A colleague treated us with some good chicken wings on Monday as he completed 35 years with the Bank.
35 long years, in the same company. A wild concept for today’s generation.
But what’s more interesting is the way he told the story.
• When he applied for the job, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister.
• When he appeared for the written exam, Mr. V. P. Singh was the Prime Minister.
• At the time of the interview, it was Mr. Chandra Shekhar.
• And finally, when he joined, it was Mr. P. V. Narasimha Rao.
I mean, such was the political instability in the country before 1999.
Sometimes I wonder, was political stability, irrespective of the party in power, the reason why India survived when its neighbours couldn’t?
Why is India not another Pakistan?
First, Reliance.
Now, SBI has posted Banger results.
The AI bubble is supposedly bursting.
Can Diwali 2026 repeat Diwali 2020?
Hey @Grok Diwali 2020 started a Bull run for the Indian Stock Market. Tell us how.
A friend asked me 3-4 days ago:
What would happen if hackers managed to hack into the entire banking system and made everyone’s bank balance zero?
A massive cyber security breach has hit the banking sector, involving the siphoning of nearly ₹14 crore from Central Bank of India's RBI settlement account over a span of just three days.
Hackers reportedly breached an RBI-owned subsidiary server (IFTAS) to inject forged payment instructions, siphoning funds across 187 unauthorized RTGS transactions.

A friend recently purchased an expensive item using his credit card.
Before the bill was generated, he converted the outstanding amount into EMIs, even though he had the money to pay for it.
When I asked him why he did that and whether he knew he would be paying 36% interest, over and above the processing fee, his response was:
A. Thoda thoda karke pay karne par pata nahi chalta.
B. He had literally zero idea that the interest rate was 24%, over and above the processing fee he was charged.
Guys, even if you belong to the thoda thoda karke pay karne par pata nahi chalta category, consider taking a personal loan instead. You can get one at around 10–15% interest.
Please think twice before converting credit card purchases into EMIs.
24% is no joke.
The entire stock market sells you the idea of earning 12% annual returns, and here you are paying 2X that just to spread your payments. Being aware financially alone can save you a ton.
Wow!! Team King is not backing down from the release date.
Happy Birthday, King Khan! I just wish India had more celebrities like you who aren’t afraid to talk about money.
As he once said, “I have 3 Play Stations. One at home, one for fun, and one simply because I can afford to have one.”
Other celebrities in India sell the idea of simple living even though none of them actually live a simple life. Because talking about money in this country is still considered taboo.
Meanwhile, my brother is out there inspiring an entire generation to work hard, make money and live life king size. Not a single f*** given about what others might think of him. (Become rich before you become a philosopher.)
I am sure that if he were offered a movie like Swades today, he would never accept it. It was never him. He never believed in selling poverty.
Before the world saw agenda driven movies attempting to malign India’s image, it saw Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
He was a multiplex hero even before multiplexes became a thing in India.
He literally ruled the Indian film industry before everything became so chhapri and dehati.
Will definitely be seated for King. 🙌🏻
This tells you what happens when you are not committed to someone. I have a different story to tell.
What if you marry the wrong person?
One of my colleagues married the love of his life after being in a relationship for almost six years.
Unfortunately, the girl couldn’t adjust to living in a joint family. (Yes, I know Indian households can be extremely conservative at times.)
A year later, they got divorced.
My brother is still paying alimony or maintenance, whatever you want to call it. Half of his monthly earnings are gone.
He somehow managed to survive on half his salary until 2024. In 2024, he got transferred to Mumbai, and that’s when the financial problems really started hitting him.
My colleague was a gym freak, extremely good looking, and even did part time modelling.
Today, he’s a completely different person. He’s depressed, has lost most of his muscle mass, and somewhere along the way, this character development has turned him into a misogynist. Bro now genuinely hates women.
I don’t think bro will ever be able to afford a house of his own now.
Four years ago, I too had commitment issues. Social media had almost convinced me that family is just emotional baggage. I avoided serious talks with my girl, fearing she'd discuss the future of our relationship.
Then I worked under an unmarried female manager in her mid-forties, a workaholic but deeply depressed. She was one of the most depressed human being I've ever seen; working with her was a nightmare because even after 11 hours of ass grinding she would ask us to do more work.
In April 2024, she bought a house and invited everyone for the vastu puja and dinner. Besides colleagues and some random people, she had no one. Her parents were already dead, and she had no relationship with her brother who used to live in some another city. She stayed late at the office because she had no one at home. As you age, you need a partner. That woman changed my whole perspective, money and vacations are important but family is also important, you'd go crazy living alone.
Yesterday, I went for a 10K run but couldn’t finish because of what happened.
So here goes.
After a warm up run, I started running laps. It’s a jogging track with 300m per lap.
After the first few laps, I came across two uncles in their 50s casually discussing things.
First lap: Pati ka astitva upar rakhne wala culture khatam ho gaya hai.
Second lap: Domestic investors. Hum SIP waale.
Third lap: Something about China.
Fourth lap: Thoda Yoga par dhyan dijiye.
Fifth lap: Shahi Paneer. And that’s when I couldn’t control my laughter and decided to end the run.
I mean, I know it’s their personal business and I shouldn’t be judging them, but people really are discussing everything all at once. 😂😂😂
Mr. Ashwini Sir, Unit ka naam waam batao. Funding requirements apne bank se pure karwayenge. Apna bhi target complete aur desh ka bhi. 😌😌
Reliance, India’s largest company, with a market cap of nearly Rs. 16 lakh crore, has net debt of Rs. 1.17 lakh crore and total open charges of approximately Rs. 6L crore. They know how to take debt and how to use it to make money.(Paise se hi paisa banta hai).
Meanwhile, Mr. Pappu, the greatest financial influencer in history, tells you not to take:
• Home loan,
• Car loan or
• Credit card.
Because they want you to have peace of mind. And because you listen to such influencers, my dear friend, you are still a gareeb.
Bank loans can help you build assets today. They can be your tool against inflation. Saving money, SIPs and all that sounds cool. But have you ever heard someone with a stature like Mr. Ambani doing SIPs for 20 years so that he can buy something 20 years later?
There is a reason rich people are rich.

A million views.
Zomato did reach out, and they have refunded the full amount.
Eat sure asked for the order ID yesterday. No response yet.
But more than that, X’s audience has once again busted a scam that has apparently been going on for years.
Apparently, these sad story notes are nothing but a tool to manipulate you into giving them a 5 star rating, even when the food is not up to the mark.
If you search for any food on Zomato, the filters allow you to choose restaurants rated 4 stars and above.
In the era we are living in (no less than a Black Mirror episode), we are looking for higher ratings literally everywhere.
Cab driver: 4.85/5. Great!
Restaurant: 4.8/5. Can’t ask for more.
IMDb rating: 8.6/10. Absolute Cinema!
Taran Adarsh rates Ramayana 5 stars: Namit Malhotra is Christopher freaking Nolan!
They know the world has become busy. No one has time for word of mouth anymore because people like to keep their lives a secret. So, collective ratings are what we all put our faith in.
Don’t waste your money just because the rating is great. Remember, you are a single earning member of your family, just like Guria is.
