Anchorage says clients will be able to fund a BTC Bond directly from their Anchorage account, monitor their assets, receive weekly BTC rewards and receive their BTC principal back at maturity. For an ordinary individual, the bigger picture is straightforward: Stacks is creating a way for native BTC to earn BTC-denominated rewards without moving the BTC off Bitcoin L1. This is not a retail “connect your wallet and start staking” product. It is being built for institutions. They need an Anchorage account, and registration/signing on the Stacks side, including the paired STX stake, remains with the client.
