Jay Boothroyd has a better understanding of the rules of offside than Dermot, who is supposed to be the expert. #Everton
Theyโve disallowed it based on the 1st image alone. But, either by choice or negligence theyโve not taken the next phase ruling (in the 2nd & 3rd images) into consideration. After the โsaveโ Johnson is onside, as he is when the second Hull defender deliberately plays the ball.
๐ The Toffees Unwrapped team have been looking at the rule book on the Johnson offside goal ๐ง

๐ข๐ข - 1878s STATEMENT - ๐ข๐ข
We thought the potential sale of our biggest young talent was bad enough, but the last 24 hours has topped that.
On Saturday Moyes said "I don't think we can afford to lose any players, we need to stay as strong as we canโ - Since then we have lost another 5 players (3 of them who have left play in areas we needed to strengthen in) and only brought 2 in.
To leave us with no back up full backs and just one striker is full on gross negligence, not forgetting we also lost one of our best players at an under valued price in todayโs market in the process without replacing him too.
We stated on Sunday that we do not feel that our fanbaseโs ambitions and the clubโs ambitions align right now - what happened yesterday has proved that even more.
As a group we will still be standing down for the foreseeable future and will not be dedicating a huge amount of our own time to put together the displays that we do that try and generate the best pre match atmosphere possible.
To be clear, this is nothing against the signings we have made, we welcome them to the club and wish them the best of luck here.
However, like the rest of our fanbase, we are utterly disappointed and disgusted with how this transfer window has gone, especially the end of it.
Also for fans asking, just to reiterate - When we design flags, there are rules and regulations that we have to adhere to regarding the wording on our flags during displays, we are not allowed derogatory or offensive wording or images.
If we were able to get a load of flags in the ground to show our feelings of discontent, disappointment & anger over this whole situation, believe us, we would, but this is something that simply wouldnโt be allowed.
Despite how we all feel we still urge fans to get behind our team on the pitch for 90 mins like we did at Bournemouth on Saturday.
We will fully support any action the fanbase takes in reaction to this extremely poor transfer window.
OUR MOTTO IS THE STANDARD WE EXPECT!

This is probably going to be the last season I bother with Everton. Fuck paying ยฃ1000 a year for a season ticket. The club is depending on the fans sticking about no matter what. Need to vote with our feet and demand better.

Surely the potential upside of Harrison Armstrong becoming a ยฃ100m+ elite level midfielder for Everton is, at this stage, worth more than banking ยฃ40m now?

๐จ ๐ข๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Statement from UEFA on FIFA overturning Folarin Balogun's one-match suspension:
"Yesterday's decision to suspend for a probationary period of a year the
implementation of the one-match automatic suspension following the red card issued to the player Folarin Balogun crossed a red line."
"Football, like any other sports, relies on rules, which are the basis for fair, honest and transparent competition. Sometimes rules are open to interpretation. In this case not."
"A minimum automatic suspension of one match following a red card is not a discretionary option and does not require the decision of a competent body to be enacted. It is a principle embedded in regulations, which cannot be made subject to exceptions, let alone in the middle of a tournament where several other players have been in the same situation and regularly served their suspension."
"When the certainty of rules is no longer guaranteed by its guardians, the integrity of the game is at stake and the credibility of a competition is undermined. Equally, such decision creates a precedent in the ongoing tournament, where similar situations will now require an equal treatment, to the detriment of the competition."
"Football is the most loved sport in the world because it is a beautiful game and is trusted because it is played everywhere with the same laws. A tournament is never a pure standalone and, if the tournament in question is the World Cup, it has the power to drive positive or negative consequences on the game as a whole."
"We express our disbelief at such an unprecedented, incomprehensible and unjustifiable decision."
