We at the Anti-Kratom Association are delighted to see the American Kratom Association celebrating kratom’s ability to provide pain relief comparable to prescription opioids. Apparently, opioid-like effects are a public health crisis until someone puts leaves on the packaging. Real stories. Real questions.
Nathan from Utah broke his femur in a 1998 car wreck and spent years on prescribed opiates for the chronic pain that followed. He has taken Krat☘m raw leaf powder for over 12 years. "It was life-changing because I could take it when I needed it rather than all of the time." Real stories. Real relief. Story via AdvocateStory.org

The prestigious High Times, that venerable pillar of intellectual excellence, renowned for its groundbreaking scholarship in recreational intoxication, is now questioning the kratom lobby. One can only imagine @TheKratomAssn is already preparing another six-page declaration of wounded dignity. Having failed to intimidate The New York Times, perhaps the editorial board of High Times will prove more susceptible to a lengthy tantrum on official letterhead. hightimes.com/analysis/krato…

Apparently, selling an addictive opioid-like substance at gas stations wasn’t classy enough. So the kratom industry put on yoga pants, hired influencers, and called it “wellness.” Same drug. Better lighting. Crippling addiction. Excellent reporting by The New York Times. nytimes.com/2026/11/02/well/…

Yes...the entire botanical kratom plant on schedule I, where it belongs
Today NDAA joined 5 national law enforcement organizations urging @DEAHQ and @US_FDA to place the entire kratom plant and its active alkaloids in Schedule I. A threshold-based approach leaves dangerous products on the shelves and is difficult to enforce. ow.ly/1PXA5102xpj

The kratom industry wanted a loophole. America’s prosecutors, sheriffs, narcotics officers, and criminal investigators just asked DEA to close it. SIX national law enforcement organizations are demanding Schedule I for the ENTIRE kratom plant, mitragynine, and its derivatives. No thresholds. No botanical exemption. No more games. assets.noviams.com/novi-file…

🚨 THE AMERICAN KRATOM ASSOCIATION DEMANDS TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER! The NYT investigated kratom lobbying, political donations and OPMS wrongful-death lawsuits. Mac Haddow fired back with six pages demanding a retraction. Six pages of indignation and wounded majesty. Apparently, freedom of the press is wonderful until the press starts investigating your industry. antikratom.org/advocate/aka.…

Well, apparently the miracle botanical Kratom has now entered veterinary medicine. The ASPCA reports a nearly 400% increase in kratom poisoning exposure calls involving pets in 2025. Sedation, vomiting, tremors, cardiovascular effects. What a splendid addition to the family dog’s wellness routine. Sit. Stay. Detox. online.flippingbook.com/view…

We at the Anti-Kratom Association agree. Science should lead. Which is precisely why we’re asking NIH to explain why taxpayers are funding another kratom mouse study when mitragynine’s opioid pharmacology and conversion to 7-hydroxymitragynine are already documented. We invite taxpayers to ask NIH themselves. antikratom.org/waste.html
Science should lead decisions about kratom. WSU has been awarded a $7.5M NIH grant to study kratom, chronic pain, and sleep. AKA welcomes rigorous research to inform evidence-based policy. Read WSU’s announcement: news.wsu.edu/press-release/2…

We at the Anti-Kratom Association applaud Jef for his groundbreaking discovery that kratom is merely lawn clippings. We regret to inform the physicians, addiction specialists, and rehabilitation professionals who have testified about kratom dependence, abuse, and withdrawal that their years of clinical experience have apparently been overturned by a gentleman comparing opioids to yard waste. We respectfully recommend that all addiction treatment facilities close immediately and refer their patients to a licensed landscaper.
Could someone abuse it? Jef doubts it. "It's like taking your grass clippings, drying them out, grinding them up, putting them in a glass of water and drinking it."

A 53-foot trailer full of allegedly illegal kratom products, with falsified lab results reportedly thrown in for good measure. And this is the industry asking lawmakers to trust its consumer protection standards. Remarkable.
FAKE LAB RESULTS!? Kratom and 7OH were recently banned in Tennessee. Last week a MAJOR bust in the Memphis area filled a 53' trailer with illegal, synthetic Kratom products and even falsified lab results, according to the West TN Drug Task Force. “I want to be clear that what we are dealing with is synthetic kratom. It’s been chemically manipulated, it is accompanied by fake lab tests and it’s deadly. If you have it, destroy it because if you sell it and are caught, you will go to jail.” said Johnie Carter, Director of the West TN Violent Crime and Drug Task Force. The Director says they are still conducting their investigations, and I suspect more is coming in the near future. We arent especially keen on all of the latest updates to the TN controlled substance laws, but falsified lab results are VERY SERIOUS and never okay. What do you think about Kratom & similar products?

Red Ribbon Week is about protecting our children from drugs, addiction, and the devastating consequences families are left to bear. Yet parents are expected to accept opioid-active kratom products sold at gas stations under the comforting disguise of “all-natural.” Prevention begins with the truth, not an industry’s marketing campaign. #RedRibbonWeek

Well, well, well. The “all-natural botanical kratom” industry has made the New York Times. $2.9 million in political contributions, wrongful-death lawsuits, a powerful opioid turning up in supposedly natural products and lobbyists pleading with Washington to let some of it stay. But please, tell us again how the real danger is synthetic kratom. Apparently, the opioid becomes natural once the lobbying is successful.

We at the Anti-Kratom Association applaud the American Kratom Association's sudden enthusiasm for truth in labeling. Now, if they could just muster the courage to tell consumers that all-natural botanical kratom can cause opioid-like dependence, withdrawal, and serious adverse effects including seizures, liver failure and cardiac arrest. Apparently, transparency has its limits.
Consumers deserve the truth. If it’s natural leaf, say it. If it’s concentrated 7-OH, say how much. If it contains synthetic analogs like MGM 15 or Pseudoindoxyl, identify them. Stop using Kratom as camouflage.

The THC industry taught us something useful: Certificates of Analysis can be forged, laboratory results manipulated, and contaminants concealed. Now explain why anyone should assume the kratom industry is immune. Same laboratories. Same incentives. Same opportunity. globalkratom.org/coa_fraud.h…

I’m sorry, did the Director of Georgia Poison Control say botanical Kratom was like coffee? Cheese? Nutmeg? No. He said OPIOIDS. How terribly inconvenient for the botanical kratom marketing department.
“These are opioids. These are opioid drugs. And like we have for the opioids, these have to be pharmacologically classified.” Important expert testimony from Dr. Gaylord Lopez, Director of Georgia Poison Control, on both “natural” kratom and its synthetic derivatives.

Again...from all-natural, God-given, organic, vegan, plant-based, sustainably harvested, ethically sourced, fair-trade, non-GMO, Indonesian botanical kratom.
At our kratom study committee, Diane Diver, the Executive Clinical Director of Recovery Place in Savannah, shared a story of a patient who started drinking kratom leaf tea for alcohol recovery before escalating to highly potent 7-OH. I asked her how often this happens.
