Porque existimos cientos, miles, millones de corazones latiendo en empatía, en humanidad, en respeto y en un agradecimiento profundo... Sí, agradecimiento, porque ellos son los que llegan a cambiar nuestra vida, nunca ha sido al revés.
Porque este caso no necesitó exageración, las imágenes hablan por sí solas.
Porque un país que aprende a cuidar a sus animales es un país que aprende a cuidar mucho mejor a su gente.
Y deseo que el caso sirva para recordar que la crueldad tiene consecuencias, y que proteger a quienes no tienen voz también es hacer justicia. 🐾🤍

An 11 year old girl committed suicide after being bullied by kids at her school who told her they were going to call ICE to take her parents away so she would be all alone. 11 years old. Those children saw a Hispanic girl at their school and bullied her with the racist remarks they learned from their parents. Now a child is dead and a family is forever traumatized.
The school knew about the bullying but never informed her parents. They only found out about it after she had already passed and investigators informed them.
I will never understand how anyone could be so cruel to support an organization that is tearing families apart. This poor girl lived in fear thinking she was going to lose her family. The sick thing is I doubt the parents of those bullies even cared because that is the behavior they taught their children. Fuck ICE and fuck everyone who supports this.
Rest in peace Jocelynn Rojo Carranza.

Two dogs were left completely alone in an Oklahoma apartment for nearly a week after their owners were deported - ICE picked the owner up directly from that apartment so they knew without question that those animals were inside, but no call was ever made to animal control.
The apartment manager was the one who finally noticed something was wrong and made the call. By the time the animal welfare officer got there the place was destroyed - furniture chewed through, trash dug up, two terrified dogs cowering in the back bedroom trembling and barking.
The officer made it clear his issue was not political - he said he would make the same call against any agency that left animals behind in that condition and that it is standard protocol to notify animal control any time an arrest leaves pets alone in a home.
If you own animals and face any kind of uncertain situation there needs to be someone designated to care for them.
