CHILDREN ARE HUNGRY, PATIENTS ARE WITHOUT MEDICINE, AND THOUSANDS OF CIVILIANS ARE TRAPPED WITHOUT ADEQUATE HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE. THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST ACT NOW!** Residents of Minembwe are desperately appealing for urgent humanitarian assistance as famine and severe food shortages continue to devastate their communities. The region's isolation, road closures and reported blockade have made it increasingly difficult for civilians to access food, medicine and essential humanitarian supplies. In 2025, OCHA, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, raised the alarm over approximately 172,000 displaced people and returnees who were still not receiving adequate humanitarian assistance. Even medical supplies destined for the region were reportedly held up in Mulima for nearly two months. Residents and observers say that the blockade imposed by DRC government forces and their allies, including the Burundian army (FDNB), FDLR, Wazalendo and foreign mercenaries, has further deepened the region's isolation. While armed forces remain engaged in conflict, innocent civilians are bearing the heaviest consequences. Children are going hungry, patients cannot access essential medicines, and families are being pushed to the brink of despair. **HOW LONG MUST THESE PEOPLE SUFFER IN SILENCE?** We urgently call upon the United Nations, OCHA, MONUSCO, the African Union, the European Union and all international humanitarian organizations to: - Demand the immediate opening of humanitarian corridors to Minembwe. - Ensure the safe and unrestricted delivery of food, medicine and essential supplies. - Facilitate immediate humanitarian access to affected communities. - Protect civilians and prevent starvation from becoming another weapon against innocent people. **MINEMBWE MUST NOT BE ABANDONED!
