So, I've been doing a lot of thinking. I keep saying "I'll stream again soon" and it just doesn't happen. I think... as much as I don't want it to, I think it's time I accept that my time streaming has come to an end. It was an amazing experience, and I made wonderful (1/n)

blue wave is fun until a deep blue state (WA) is voting to pass an initiative that bans trans girls from playing school sports and subjects girls to genital checks to verify they arent trans before they are allowed to play.

Okay, this is good. Now. And this part is a lil tricky. We’ve had trouble with it before, so listen closely: You need to fucking do something with this power IMMEDIATELY when you get sworn in. Day one. No more letters. Use this power day one or your asses will never get it again.

This is the most serious 48 hours in cybersecurity history. "Black October" they're calling it It seems every *hour* there's a new incident, that in a typical year, would be one of the biggest incidents of the *entire year* SUMMARY OF THE LAST 48 HOURS: YEAR-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical year, these would be among the biggest incidents of the year): 1. PHP2Shell: a hole in the software behind ~70% of websites. Governments took sites offline. 2. eMudhra: the master keys that prove websites are real were cracked. One was the number 4. 3. California: data on every public school student since 2023 stolen, including disability status 4. Cairn: criminals used an AI hacking tool to break into 100+ companies 9. Ahold Delhaize: hackers knocked the owner of Food Lion and Stop & Shop offline 10. you cant upgrade your computer parts because memory manufacturers and chip makers have exited the retail space in favor of ai companies, which have pre bought all of their stock in order to put it in warehouses where it'll never be used. what a farce
Business Insider confirms it: Amazon has warehouses of GPUs that can’t be installed, and is buying them so far in advance that a supply chain team said they “didn’t have a clear forecasted path” to installing them. businessinsider.com/amazon-2…

AI is literally a scam, the most sophisticated scam ever. They created a machine that mimics the output of intelligence. Then told everyone it was really intelligent — an impossibility, but the illusion was convincing. Based on that deception, they fleeced investors of trillions.
Not sure who needs to hear this but.... An LLM doesn't "understand" anything. It is a statistical model that spews out tokens based on probabilities calculated through massive matrix operations and context, not an understanding of the subject matter.

Basically Meta is saying if you use their services at a professional capacity, they have the right to use and profit from any material of yours located anywhere on the internet. Insane.
%$&*!!! whoa. This reads that Meta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - once a company uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services after October 30, 2026. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

Please pay attention to this. You do NOT want your graphics card being accessed like this!
PSA: Can confirm that the NVIDIA app is automatically updating and has *enabled by default* a setting which allows AI agents to control the app with very permissive rights. Besides the obnoxious privacy invasion and lame AI features, it's a high security risk you may not want.

We gotta face the fact that COVID hasn't ended in the commercial sector. 24 hours stores are gone, everything is run by 5 people at most, and no one wants to hire because it might make profits a little less
Literally everything runs on skeleton crews now. Got stuck in like for like 30 minutes at the grocery this week because they had only 1 register open and no one fixing the broken self check outs. At 5pm. On a friday.

I can’t stress enough that this would mean the complete extinction of human culture. You need art because it connects you to all who’ve gone before you; it challenges you to embrace perspectives not your own. Media generated to your exact preferences is the death of the soul.

The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

Fundamentally, AI techbro culture is a deeply American resentment about the fundamental fact that "Money can't buy skills or knowledge. You have to put in effort". They don't even want the fruits of said skills or knowledge, they just want to crush those who have them.
