A few thoughts: - Wow that sounds like a really bad experience, which could have been avoided at any time by turning oneself in to the proper authorities, and thereby receiving a free flight and a nice chunk of cash to help you on your return home (I recommend all those illegally present in the country do this at their earliest convenience) - The fact that he felt comfortable traveling by air, thereby passing through heavily surveilled areas and providing identification, all while being 6 years expired on a 2 year visa, goes to show just how lax our pre-Trump enforcement policies were
