Trees can cool a city street by up to 9°F, no electricity required. The cheapest AC ever built is a tree. We plant them at @treemissions. Follow for more nature facts that'll change how you see the world. 🌳

Earth has about 3 trillion trees, down from about 6 trillion before the rise of human civilisation. Humans cut down ~15 billion every year. That's roughly 28,000 trees a minute. That is why it's vital we plant them and do all that we can to prevent deforestation. 🌱

Tree bark is secretly eating methane. Scientists discovered that the world’s forests absorb 25–50 million tons of atmospheric methane every year through their bark. Trees just got 7–12% better for the climate than we thought. Nature’s been quietly saving us this whole time.

Trees don’t just exhale oxygen. They release microscopic chemicals (sesquiterpenes) that seed clouds. Scientists discovered that adding just 2% of these molecules can DOUBLE cloud formation. Forests are quietly engineering the weather itself.🌳 Nature’s original climate machine!
