Europe has developed a pretty interesting definition of “protecting democracy.”
🇷🇴 Romania annulled a presidential election after Călin Georgescu finished first, then barred him from the rerun.
🇭🇺 Hungary’s new government rewrote the constitution with retroactive limits that block Viktor Orbán from becoming PM again and later approved rules barring long-serving MPs from the next parliamentary election.
🇩🇪 Germany’s domestic intelligence service classified the AfD as extremist, opening the door to much heavier surveillance of the country’s biggest opposition party.
🇫🇷 France upheld Marine Le Pen’s conviction, kept restrictions on her political future and ordered her to wear an electronic ankle tag.
🇪🇸 In Spain, more than a dozen people tied to Pedro Sánchez’s political and personal circle have been investigated or prosecuted in separate corruption cases, while Sánchez himself has not been charged.
🇬🇧 Britain postponed local elections during a sweeping reorganization of local government, triggering a petition accusing the government of voter suppression.
🇵🇱 And now Poland has police surrounding its Constitutional Tribunal while the government and opposition accuse each other of trying to seize control of the court.
The real red line in Europe may not be democracy... It may be leaving the club.

We are witnessing the collapse of the European Union in real time. Just as the Soviet Union was destined to fail, the EU is crumbling under the same fatal delusion of forced unity. Supranational unions like the EU systematically strip nations of their identity, sovereignty, and democratic self-determination. Decisions are imposed from Brussels in the name of the so-called “greater good,” overriding the will and interests of member peoples.
This is fundamentally unsustainable.
Europe’s nations possess centuries of distinct cultural, historical, and political identities that cannot be erased by bureaucratic decree or elite consensus. Like communism, the European project looks appealing on paper but is a practical failure…

He's Elijah Jase Parker, 19, of Calhoun, GA.
Oct. 22. A Publix parking lot.
His mother, Laura Ann Moore, let him practice driving her Tahoe.
They switched seats. Then he allegedly started choking her, "out of the blue."
He wouldn't let her out. She thought she was going to pass out.
She eventually broke free, and ran into a Five Guys for help.
She had red marks on her neck.
Cops found him an hour later.
He tried to flee at speeds up to 98mph.
He crashed into woman stopped at a stop sign, then went into the trees.
After his arrest, he allegedly told a sergeant he was trying to kill his mother.
And that he'd put a plastic bag over her head.
His mom told police he said he'd shoot it out with the cops before going to prison.
She believes he would have killed her.
He's being charged with:
* Aggravated assault
* False imprisonment
* Theft
* Fleeing police
Held in the Bartow County jail. No bond.
About 5 weeks before this happened, on Sept. 14, he was booked for terroristic threats.
He was released on Sept. 29, on his own recognizance.
I get the feeling real prison time will be a harsh learning experience for this guy.
