Today I just made my first $1,700 through the internet!
I redesigned a website for a business.
At 14, I never thought I could sell to a complete stranger.
I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur and this is the first step towards that goal.

The #2 drug in Medicare Part B isn’t for cancer. It’s a shot in the eye.
In 2023, Medicare spent $3.1bn on one eye drug, Eylea.
Only one drug is more expensive for Medicare, Keytruda, a cancer drug ($5.4bn).
341,800 patients received Eylea in 2023. At ~$9.2k per patient, that’s a lot of injections.
If the two other eye injections are included, Vabysmo ($1.3bn) and Lucentis ($0.5bn), the three combined ($4.9bn) nearly equal Keytruda alone.
Here’s the twist.
Retina practices have to front the money for these drugs before being paid by Medicare.
Every retina clinic is not just a doctor’s office but also a drug bank.

I’m learning how the money flows in healthcare and sharing it here. Let me know what else to cover.

Here's a post from Harry Stebbings that got 300 likes in 2 hours. It's only 75 words.
He's talking about recording a 20VC show with Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft.
Here's why it works.
1. The first line raises interest. He says it's emotional for him to write this post. This makes you compelled to read the post.
2. He contrasts where he started with what he's doing now.
3. He uses two numbers: 12 years and 3000 shows. Those numbers attract the eye.
4. He ends with a lesson: there's no such thing as overnight success.
Most founders would have just posted the announcement. @HarryStebbings told the story of the 12 years it took him to get there.
I'll break down one great founder post every week.
Suggest a post you think I should break down.
This post is an emotional one to write.
I started 20VC from a bedroom in London, as an 18-year-old, with no money and no contacts.
Today, I sat down to record a very special show with @satyanadella, CEO of @Microsoft.
It was 12 years in the making. 3,000 shows built up to this moment.
There is no overnight success. Work hard, be kind, never give up.
This is a moment I will remember forever.

Doctors get paid for the care that they write down. They never get paid for the care they actually give.
@ShivdevRao, the founder of Abridge said this on 20VC:
"They're not compensated for the care that they deliver. They're compensated for the care that they documented that they deliver."
Shiv tried to teach doctors about billing. He said nobody seemed interested at all.
If you're building for doctors:
1. Find the work they do that they never document
2. Ask what their most painful problem is and go from there.
3. Make sure to sell to more than one person. Shiv names three buyers: the CMIO, the CIO, and the CFO

It takes up to 6 months to set up a robot that builds a phone that's only in full production for 4
It takes 3-6 months plus $1M to program a factory to do one little thing on the automation line.
Bob McGrew, and ex chief at OpenAI put his new company Arda on the map today.
They raised $232m at a $1.5b valuation to fix this problem.
For their first customer, they went from taking 10 hours to program basic instructions to 15 minutes.
Money can be made in the most boring industries.
What industries are next?

This is a longer than usual post but worth the read.
This is the 7th and final day of my 7 day stint on the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius.
Today I talk about memento mori, or remembering you will die.
As Marcus put it, "You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think."
It's odd to think that your time can end at any moment.
You really only have a limited amount of time to do what you want.
It doesn't matter if you feel ready.
Here are the 7 things I learned from Marcus Aurelius:
Control what you can
Be good to people
Nothing lasts forever
You get to choose how you see things
Be a good person
Your time is short
Use today
Make the most of it.
Thanks for reading all 7 days!

$0-$1m in 12 weeks, $1m-$10m in another 10 weeks, and $10m-$20m in another 6 weeks.
Meet Polsia. An insane success story. Ben Cera is the only guy behind it and they’re about to cross $25m in run rate.
His biggest learnings? It’s not enough to be first, you have to be loud too. If you don’t, someone else will be and they will bury you.
It’s cheap and easy to build things.
Getting people to know about what your doing is the hard thing.
Being loud is the best way to succeed.
