Today, I attended the 19th meeting of the Ganga Flood Control Board (GFCB) in New Delhi, chaired by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri @CRPaatil Ji. The meeting was attended by the Hon'ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri @RNK_Thakur Ji; Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri @VijayKChy Ji; Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister, Shri @swatantrabjp Ji; and senior Officials from various Ganga basin States and Central Ministries. We engaged in comprehensive deliberations regarding permanent solutions to severe flood and river erosion issues, enhanced inter-state coordination, and robust long-term water management across the Ganga basin. Raised crucial matters concerning the protection of riverbanks, prevention of erosion and ensuring the safety and security of vulnerable communities in West Bengal as well as the States where the river flows. The introduction of the new Jaipur (Khatipura)–Tatanagar–Santragachi Express marks a significant step forward in strengthening interstate rail connectivity across West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. This new train will greatly benefit tourists, students, traders alike. শ্রীশ্রী কোজাগরী লক্ষ্মী পুজোর পুণ্যতিথিতে মহানায়ক উত্তম কুমারের বাড়িতে আয়োজিত লক্ষ্মীপুজোয় মাতৃপ্রতিমা দর্শন করে প্রণাম নিবেদন করলাম। মা লক্ষ্মীর কাছে সকলের সুখ, শান্তি, সমৃদ্ধি ও মঙ্গল প্রার্থনা করলাম। পাশাপাশি এই শুভক্ষণে উপস্থিত সকলের সঙ্গে বিজয়া ও লক্ষ্মী পুজোর শুভেচ্ছা বিনিময় করলাম।

কলকাতার চোরবাগানে মর্মান্তিক দুর্ঘটনায় প্রয়াত হয়েছেন আমার সহনাগরিক, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর জেলার রামনগরের বাসিন্দা শ্রীমতী কল্পনা জানা। আজ তাঁর পরিবারের সদস্যদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করে তাঁদের পাশে থাকার আশ্বাস দিলাম। ওনাদের এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি কোনওভাবেই পূরণ করা সম্ভব নয়। এই কঠিন সময়ে পরিবারের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে তাঁদের হাতে আর্থিক সহায়তা তুলে দিলাম। তাঁদের এই দুঃসময়ে সরকার সর্বতোভাবে পাশে থাকবে সেই অঙ্গীকার করছি।
