Arreon Neely Jr

Finally, in closing out the Adams win, we have decided to give the @eatoncorp Energizer Award to none other than AJ Neely! We had lots of options here but if you were there, you know. He did EXACTLY what this award says, he ENERGIZED the team and made great use of his time on the floor! This young guard is going to be problem in the future and he's a huge part of what we're planning on doing over the next month, so stay tuned because AJ is playing some great ball lately! Congrats, AJ, and great job! Now, get back to work...the grind continues!!! WILDCATS ROLLIN! Design Cred: @ppg.mediaa, a 2nd year @SouthBendCTE student in the Digital Design program at Riley HS.

We took yesterday off to dig out from under all of this snow but today we are back in business with a NEW feature for the season! With the help of our friends over at @eatoncorp, we're proud to introduce you to the "Energizer" Award! The Eaton Corporation is a power management company, so it made sense to connect that with the player that comes into the game and really ENERGIZES the squad! Maybe the weren't the MVP...but we wouldn't have got the W without them type-ish! So, without further ado, we would like to showcase our very first Eaton Corporation Energizer Award, AJ Neely! Coming into the game off the bench against Laporte, this young made sure that the defensive intensity did NOT drop-evidenced by his FOUR deflections-while also playing aggressively on offense! He definitely ENERGIZED us! Great job, AJ, on being our first Energizer Award Winner! Now, get back to work, the grind continues!

Day 1 of 2025 Super Hoops went pretty well for the Cats, as we opened the weekend going 2-1. Game 1 was versus Penn and we got the W. It was a team effort with no player scoring in double figures but multiple guys scoring it. AJ Neely led the way in buckets with 9 points to go with his 4 rebounds. Isaiah Packer finished with 8 points and a team-leading 6 rebounds but his most important shots were from the charity stripe, where he calmly sank two free throws with 0.5 on the clock to give Riley the victory. Game 2 came against the Giants of Marion. It was a tough, close game the whole way but we dropped this one on a buzzer beater (and a heck of a shot). Isaiah Packer finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds in the loss. Game 3 saw us get back on track with a dominant win over Olentangy. Isaiah Packer once again led the way in this one with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Kelin Webster contributed 4 points to go with his team-leading 10 rebounds. It was a good first day, now it’s time to make day 2 a GREAT one! Stay tuned for all the updates! GO CATS!!!

We had one last chance to work on things at the Chesterton League last night before we roll into Charlie Hughes this weekend and let's just say-as expected in the summer-it was a little good, a little bad, and a little ugly...but ultimately, we walked away with two wins over quality opponents, so we'll take it! We opened the night against 21st Century (Gary), a loaded team widely expected to contend for a 2A state title this season. This one was ugly, early. We were down 18 points at one point. Ouch. BUT...we fought. We stayed together. We clawed back behind some stellar team play in the second half, with multiple guys contributing. Big Tree made some huge shots. Kelin picked his spots and knocked 'em down. Isaiah scored all 8 of his points in the second half and led us with 10 boards...but it was AJ Neely that really made his mark as he came up HUGE down the stretch. The sophomore PG made several tough and timely shots as the game got close and in the end the Wildcats pulled of a tough comeback victory over the Cougars! The second game of the night was versus the Vikings of Valpo and the 'Cats controlled this one pretty much from the start en route to a solid victory. Senior Isaiah Packer led us in scoring and on the glass with 16/5, Arreon Neely continued his strong play, chipping in 12 points and snagging three steals and Riley was 2-0 for the night. It was another solid set of victories for the 'Cats but also revealed a lot of things left to work on. Such is life in the summer! We've got an absolutely loaded Charlie Hughes schedule (preview coming tomorrow) and just a couple of days left to practice, so we are heavy into prep mode for what will no doubt be an exciting and challenging weekend. Our guys are locked in and working hard to improve every day! Stay tuned for all of the updates...we're excited and ready to hit the road! GO CATS!
