With Roe v. Wade overturned, ALKA wants to state that we stand firm with everyone who can become pregnant. We also acknowledge that banning abortion disproportionately impacts people of color and the poor. Access to abortion is a human right and we all must defend it like one.

I think it's also important that this moral panic isn't relegated to TERF/SWERF logic. "Think of the children" has a LONG history of being used against any kind of liberation. Examples of use in US : women's voting rights, integration, and "gay people existing" as a concept.

The kink community has earned a presence at Pride. Police and corporations have not. "Kink at Pride" and "family-friendly queer spaces" can and should coexist as ideas but not at the expense of queer liberation, which kinky POC have fought for since even before Stonewall. 1/4

Instead of discourse on kink at Pride each year, we need to put that energy behind fighting oppression. Pride shouldn't have a space for law enforcement and corporations, especially not now during the rise in anti-Asian hate and the lack of justice for Black and Brown folx. 3/4

Youth-oriented queer spaces and kink at Pride can and should coexist. To argue otherwise is anti-kink and parrots TERF and SWERF talking points. Keep kink in Pride. Throw police and corporations out. Thanks @ghostpupzero404 for writing the original version of this thread! 4/4
