Kind of a read so bear with me.
I've been creating content and stories for over 20 years now. Studied multiple forms of art, understand anatomy, and drew my own art for quite some time. But at the same time, I'm also a tech enthusiast, and with certain markets stagnating and becoming less interesting, at least the AI market and how its developing gives me something to look forward to.
Despite the fact I now primarily use AI, that's not to say I just click "generate" and call it a day. The skills I've harbored I put into my creations. Quite often I'll render one of my characters, the AI will get it wrong, and I'll take the render into Gimp (utilizing the skills I learned while studying digital art as an elective and as a hobby) to make manual corrections (anatomy, features, effects, etc). I do this because I may want to see my ideas or characters in styles I cannot reproduce myself by hand, but also because my time is limited
I have 2 jobs, so I need to pick the tool that best suits my lifestyle. Do I spend all day working, and then come home, ignoring my spouse and family while spending hours creating in an isolated corner of my house? Or do I take 30-60 mins every other day using AI, without having to neglect my family or household responsibilities?
I live a very rich life, but that richness comes at the cost of very little personal time. I enjoy telling stories, and I enjoy seeing my characters in weird, obnoxious, dubious, or even outright questionable situations. AI allows me to maintain balance in my life and pursue story telling, and at the end of the day, to just have fun.

"One moment she's having a dinner with her family. The next thing she knows, she's spilling from a stasis tank, partially transformed into a male wolf. Searching an unfamiliar land for her family, she wonders—Why was she taken? Who mutated her? And how long was she unconscious?"
Definitely feeling like I've made good progress in understanding H3. I made a workflow that allows for up to 4 passes of refinement and upscaling. I want to skip any (or all) of the passes, I can do that (for example, skipping the refinement and 1MP pass and go straight to 2MP). It's not perfect and still doesn't solve some of the flaws of H3. But getting close to production level of quality on consumer hardware is pretty nutty.
In this example, the initial render was at 0.4MP and finished at 4min 30s. Refining was also done at 0.4MP and took 2min 15s. The 1MP and 2MP pass both took approx 29min each. Funny enough, skipping the 1MP pass and going straight to 2MP results in the same inference speed, meaning that skipping the 1MP pass saves 30 mins on the final render.
Regardless, I'm pretty happy with these results. Hopefully, in time, I'll be able to get around to doing more projects in H3 and migrate away from Seedance.

While I don't have much faith in Blizzard as of late, it's hard to deny that their newest StarCraft trailer absolutely cooks!
