There's an entire technical aspect of this that no one is talking about that probably came straight from Putin. The press keeps reporting that they "throttled" Starlink, which makes it sound like they limited bandwidth. But that isn't what Zelenskyy is saying. He's saying that they restricted the flight speed of Ukrainian drones, cutting operational airspeed from 180kph to 160kph with people on the Eastern front reporting airspeed limits as low as 130kph. Zelenskyy also said that these same drones maintain connectivity at 180kph as soon as they cross the Polish border. That isn't bandwidth throttling. That is 3D Geofencing. They placed a policy on the Starlink constellation to not communicate with a transmitter traveling over X-speed within the geographical boundary of Ukraine. Zelenskyy said the result is that they cannot intercept Russia's new turbofan drones. So here's my thing... Limiting the airspeed of the connected Starlink terminals is a VERY weird and VERY specific policy to apply. And as Zelenskyy said, it led to a very specific outcome. So where did Elon get this idea? Who gave him this idea that they should restrict connectivity of terminald to objects traveling under 160kph? He didn't shutdown access. He didn't throttle bandwidth. He didn't disconnect terminals. He didn't restrict access over the Eastern Front. All of the things that you'd expect dumbass like Musk and Trump to do in a fit of rage didn't happen. Instead, they implemented a very specific, very subtle policy that hamstring Ukrainian defense capability while maintaining the plausible deniability of, "Oh, it's still working.
