I am honoured to be appointed Australia’s Ambassador for Arms Control and Counter-Proliferation. As global risks rise, so must our resolve. I look forward to working with partners to champion strong non-proliferation standards, effective arms control and practical disarmament.
A productive week at #UNTOC2026, bringing together 2,000+ delegates from government & civil society. Strong commitments to addressing transnational crime, valuable discussions with partners, & recognition of 🇦🇺’s work in the region, including Waqa Moana initiative in the Pacific.

Had a constructive engagement with H.E. Ms. Jane Duke, Australia's Ambassador to Counter Modern Slavery, People Smuggling and Human Trafficking during #UNTOC2026.
Grateful for Australia’s strong partnership with @UNODC in combating trafficking in persons and migrant smuggling across Southeast Asia and the Pacific - helping to strengthen regional cooperation, legal and criminal justice responses, and protection for vulnerable populations.
Together, we are committed to raising awareness of emerging criminal threats and working to stay ahead of those who seek to exploit others.
Transnational crime is increasingly borderless, digital and interconnected. At #UNTOC2026, Australia reaffirmed its commitment to working with partners to disrupt criminal networks, tackle trafficking and forced criminality, and protect people from exploitation.
I joined colleagues from across @dfat and @NessZim, CEO @pillar_two, to discuss modern slavery, responsible business conduct and investment. Tackling modern slavery requires strong partnerships and discussion to protect human rights across global supply chains.

I first worked on the Bali Process in 2002; fighting people smuggling, trafficking and transnational crime remains just as relevant today. Pleased to speak at the annual Bali Process Forum in Bangkok this week: the ongoing task of cementing practical cooperation at the border
100 years ago, Australia became an original signatory to the 1926 Slavery Convention. R.G. Casey represented Australia during negotiations. A century on, modern slavery persists. Ending it demands action from governments, business and civil society.
This #InternationalDayOfPeace, I celebrate the women across @dfat and around the world advancing peace, security and stability through diplomacy. Proud to stand alongside inspiring women leaders working to address today's most pressing security challenges.

Australia is seeking a seat on the UN Security Council for 2029-30. As an active, ambitious middle power, Australia has a practical contribution to make to international peace and security. We’ll listen with respect, partner as equals, protect civilians and defend the UN charter.
Delighted to see @UNmigration Regional Director @iori_IOM this week in Canberra and discuss our work together to counter irregular migration and related transnational crime challenges, including through the Bali Process.
A peaceful, stable and prosperous region depends on strong partnerships. Fantastic to engage with Bali Process members at Senior Officials’ Meetings in Bangkok. Shared regional challenges like online scams operations and irregular maritime migration demand shared solutions.
Countries can’t tackle issues like people smuggling or scams alone. Bali Process Senior Officials' Meetings in Bangkok that I co-chaired with Indonesia affirmed commitment to action and underscored the forum’s enduring strategic value as we approach its 25th anniversary in 2027.
The Australia-Indonesia partnership is at the heart of the Bali Process. As Co-Chairs, we’re working with the region to combat people smuggling, human trafficking & online scams. These challenges are top of the agenda in Senior Officials’ Meetings @dennyabdi & I are leading in 🇹🇭
Stopping scams starts with stopping the criminals behind them. Australia is working with regional and global partners through joint operations, intelligence sharing and victim protection efforts to dismantle online scam centres and reduce scam harm. #ScamsAwarenessWeek
Honoured to call on H.E the Hon. Ms Sam Mostyn, Governor General of Australia this week.
I’m so grateful for her interest in and support for Australia’s efforts to combat modern slavery, human trafficking and people smuggling and for the most vulnerable amongst us.

Sending my best wishes to the Indonesian people & government as they celebrate 81 years of independence today.
Indonesia is one of our closest partners, and we remain committed to Indonesia’s sovereignty & territorial integrity under the Lombok Treaty.
Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan!
Transnational crime knows no boundaries. Neither should our partnerships. Discussed trafficking linked to online scams, the #BaliProcess and Kenya's Shirika Plan with Dr Korir Sing'Oei, Principal Secretary of Kenya's State Department of Foreign Affairs.
Honoured to engage over lunch with Australia’s Secretary International Security, Legal and Consular Group, Dr. Fiona Webster, Dr Ralph King, First Assistant Secretary of the Middle East and Africa Division at DFAT, Ms. Gemma Huggins, Australia's Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism, and Ms. Jane Duke, Ambassador to Counter Modern Slavery, People Smuggling and Human Trafficking. @ForeignOfficeKE @dfat

Addressing online scam centres requires coordinated action across borders.
On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we recognise the importance of international cooperation to combat human trafficking, protect vulnerable people and disrupt transnational criminal networks.
Online scam centres exploit people and undermine security across our region.
Australia is working with international partners through the Bali Process and other regional initiatives to disrupt criminal networks, support victims and hold perpetrators to account.
