I don't know what Twitter has done in the last week, but the app is running like microwaved dog shit for me now. Constant stutters and freezing and before it was totally fine. Love that this thing is basically a continuous experiment in enshittification now
I feel vindicated for deciding not to drive like an hour to see The Devils because it's now it's showing like 10 minutes away from me and you bet you're ass I'll be there with bells on.
I think the reason Scream is a perfect movie is because there's a tender romantic core that is the beating heart beneath the brutality and bloodbath, and the laughs are born from a deep and understanding love of the genre and emotional hyperbole of being a teen.
When you see Sidney with Billy and Dewey with Gail, he lingers on their flirty banter and their looks at each other, and their smiles, and it reminded me how good it was to be young and in love and to feel like everything else in the world was just another distraction from that.
Since Halloween is my favorite time of year and life has been lonely and pretty miserable, I decided to buy an unlimited pass and hit the local theater all month to watch the old horror movies I missed out on. It's been really awesome seeing so many movies I love in the theater.
Tomorrow I get to see Scream (another fave) for the anniversary, and I'm planning on catching The Cabin In The Woods, It Follows, possibly Christine, and Halloween (1978).
Milennials were probably the last ones who had to do this shit too, and I kind of wonder who will be worse off: Us, or the Gen Z kids hitting research chemical strength THC vapes full of insane heavy metals and other horrors
