DeFi has built lending markets, derivatives exchanges, and tokenized assets. Connecting them efficiently is a different challenge. We're beginning to see one of the four verticals @MattVisser outlined for @SonicLabs take shape: RWAs and tokenization. @NummoHQ is one of the initiatives being developed within that strategy. The proposed model allows users to borrow $USSD against tokenized gold and stocks while maintaining exposure to their underlying assets. Its broader plan is to connect yield-bearing assets from different networks to dollar liquidity, with cross-chain activity coordinated through SODAX and settled on Sonic. Alongside lending, the platform is developing perpetual and dated futures markets covering BTC, gold, NVDA, and GPU compute prices. These financial instruments already exist elsewhere in DeFi. The opportunity lies in connecting collateral, liquidity, and trading within a single financial ecosystem. We've already seen tokenized equities used as collateral in lending markets, while platforms like Hyperliquid have established themselves in derivatives trading. The model aims to connect assets held across different networks to USSD borrowing on Sonic. That gives USSD a specific role: providing dollar liquidity against tokenized and yield-bearing assets. USSD's Treasury-backed reserve model is designed to return yield to the Sonic ecosystem. If borrowing demand contributes to growth in USSD's circulating supply, it could strengthen that revenue source. Tokenized assets don't necessarily need to originate on Sonic for USSD to play a role in financing them. If Nummo can make that cross-chain borrowing model work at scale, it could give Sonic's RWA strategy something more valuable than another asset listing: recurring demand for dollar liquidity. We're starting to see the pieces come together. And I think there's a lot more to come. $S

Everyone is waiting for Sonic's audit. Fair enough. But I don't think this 13M sonic-3:native deal should get lost in that conversation. And I'm not just talking about @SonicLabs announcing the transfer in advance. To be fair, this kind of proactive communication wasn't something we were used to seeing from Sonic, and it's good to see that changing. But what matters even more is the agreement itself. “A long-term partner with an established network, working to expand Sonic's reach and engagement.” There's a bigger picture here than simply moving 13 million tokens. Remember the $25M Resonance Fund? It was announced with big ambitions, but the collaboration eventually ended, with the allocated sonic-3:native returning to Sonic. That's why I care more about what partnerships actually deliver than how good they sound when announced. This is not Sonic's first deal, and I certainly don't expect it to be the last. For the past few months, we've been getting familiar with how @MattVisser thinks about Sonic and where he wants to take it. Now we're gradually moving from understanding his vision to seeing what he can actually execute. I'm prettry sure the next 100 days will tell a very different story about Sonic than the previous 100.
