HERB DEAN'S EARLY STOPPAGE OF ALEX PEREIRA AGAINST CIRYL GANE REMAINS DEBATED Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira opened the interim heavyweight title bout at UFC Freedom 250 with a measured first round. Both traded leg kicks and jabs on the White House lawn while Pereira searched for openings. Media scored the frame 10-9 for Gane. Early in round two Gane landed a sharp right hand that dropped Pereira. The Brazilian rose quickly yet stayed unsteady against the fence. Gane immediately closed distance and unleashed a sustained barrage of punches and elbows. Pereira stayed upright but offered little defense as the strikes continued. Referee Herb Dean stepped in at 1:27 of the second round and waved off the contest. No judges’ cards were needed because the bout ended by TKO. The stoppage left Pereira split open and visibly compromised. Gane’s volume and accuracy had overwhelmed him in the short sequence. Many observers viewed the finish as necessary to protect the fighter. Pereira later argued the result could have differed under another referee. He said Gane was exhausted and that he remained standing. He also alleged several shots landed illegally behind the head. Herb Dean responded by clarifying the nape-of-the-neck rule. He noted that strikes to the sides of the head are legal while the central column is not. The explanation did not fully quiet the debate. Epic moments included Pereira’s late head kick in round one and Gane’s sudden knockdown. The finish itself remains the lasting image. Fans still ask whether Dean intervened too soon or simply prevented further damage.

Shoutout to Marc Goddard! 👏🥊 Referees need to protect fighters, not just watch the action unfold. If a fighter crosses the line, step in and enforce the rules. We need more of this in MMA. 💯

Jacobe Smith is still not known to some FANS. 👀🔥 Four UFC fights, four finishes, and he’s already climbing the ladder. The scary part is that I am still seeing the early stages of his development. Randy Brown is a serious test for him🥊 He's strong contender for Naoya

Mike Tyson and Cristiano Ronaldo are super humans when it comes to fitness and training. Mike Tyson’s averages 2,000 daily sit-ups, crazy right? Evander Holyfield’s said that he had never seen anyone train as hard as Tyson. Holyfield later reconfirmed the sentiment, saying Tyson was the only person who ever outworked him and that watching the teenage Tyson in the gym left him amazed. That extreme volume—pre-dawn runs, high-rep calisthenics, and relentless sparring—produced the explosive power and intimidation that defined Tyson’s peak. Opponents and fans repeatedly described his preparation as almost superhuman; it was the foundation of his early dominance. Cristiano Ronaldo operates with a similar obsessive discipline in football. Teammates such as Paul Scholes and Carlos Tevez have said he arrives first, stays longest, and treats recovery and extra gym work as non-negotiable. Even into his forties he maintains multiple daily sessions, high step counts, structured nutrition, and mental toughness—openly admitting he sometimes has to “fight his mind” to keep going. Both athletes show that peak performance is rarely pure talent. It is sustained, deliberate training that separates the elite from the merely gifted. Tyson’s boxing power and Ronaldo’s longevity are products of the same core habit: treating training as non-negotiable, every single day.

BUTTERBEAN BLASTS ED WHITE CLEAN THROUGH THE ROPES WITH A BRUTAL TKO IN LAS VEGAS On April 12, 1997, Butterbean (Eric Esch) overcame a seven-inch height disadvantage against Ed White to retain his IBA super heavyweight title. After absorbing early jabs, Butterbean unloaded heavy rights and hooks in round two, dropping White before a left-right combo sent him tumbling out of the ring. Referee Joe Cortez stopped it at 1:14 of the second round.

The Most Scary Boxer🥊 🤣😭 Tyson really said, “Let me teach you some respect first, then help you back to your feet!” The scary part is that he could hurt you and still look like he was in control the whole time. 🥶🥊

Naoya Inoue is becoming one of the DIRTIEST fighters in boxing. 👀🥊 He keeps attacking the head to make his opponents raise their guard, then switches downstairs with those brutal body shots. The timing, the precision, the way he sets traps, this dude gives you no safe place to defend. Tell me I am wrong, but how do you even defend against this? 😭💀

Two fights is a fair floor. It rewards activity, which is the thing fans complain about most. The counterargument is that one fight against the best opponent can mean more than two safe ones. I'd add a second test: quality of opposition. O'Shaquie Foster passes both this year, beating Raymond Ford in May and Emanuel Navarrete for two more belts on Saturday. So which matters more for Fighter of the Year: how often you fight, or who you fight? xitter.cf/MikeCoppinger/status/2…
Agree. Fighter of the Year should be for boxers who compete a minimum of two times IMO.

🔥 Volk vs. Islam 1 was a reminder that you don’t need a finish to create an unforgettable fight. I missed this part of the fight 🙆🏼😱 The way that crowd erupted, you will think the stadium was about to collapse! 😭🔥 Volk and Islam went five rounds proving why elite fighters deserve elite respect. Islam won, but Volk made him work for every second of it. So cr*zy

BUTTERBEAN KNOCKS ED WHITE CLEAN THROUGH THE ROPES IN LAS VEGAS On April 12, 1997, Eric Butterbean Esch faced towering Ed White for the IBA super heavyweight title. White used his seven-inch height advantage and long jab to control the early exchanges and keep Butterbean at bay. The opening round stayed competitive as Ed White landed clean shots while Butterbean pressed forward undeterred. In the second round Butterbean found his range with heavy overhand rights and looping hooks that staggered White. A big right hand dropped Ed White early, and he rose with a look of resignation in his eyes. Butterbean followed with a left-right combination that sent White tumbling through the ropes and out of the ring. Referee Joe Cortez waved off the fight at 1:14, awarding Butterbean the TKO and retaining his title.
