Am I the one who’s shortsighted, or do many of the arguments in Ssemakadde’s defense collapse on their own terms? His flaws are not surface level irritants; they are so fundamental that they undercut everything he claims to stand for. The Erron episode and the twins’ accounts go

Baker Birikujja, Ag. National Personal Data Protection Director, determined that Google LLC's transfer of Ugandan citizens' personal data abroad without demonstrating adequate safeguards or accountability breaches the Data Protection and Privacy Act.

Well done @pdpoUG and @Birikujja!
The data protection landscape in Uganda is changing for the better with these new developments.
Hopefully, all data collectors, controllers and processors can start to take compliance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act very seriously.

on TL doctors:
the fact that you went to medical school doesn't make your public opinions unquestionable. your expertise is respected, but in a world where access to information is widespread, it cannot be the final word
we live in a time where disciplines are interconnected, where someone from another field might have read the same research, or bring insight from lived experience that your training hasn't prepared you for
we must let go of the idea that certain types of knowledge can only belong to an "elite few"
in response to Dr Solomon Kimera, many women have pushed back on his bad joke—not as scientists, but as people who live in their bodies. and that matters
lived experience is not a substitute for clinical training, but it is a valid form of knowledge. knowing their body, their cycles, their health history, their fertility choices—these are not trivial
they are not inferior to textbook understanding. they are parallel truths that deserve to be heard, especially when the topic is so personal and intimate
this is where humility must enter professional spaces
expertise is not only found in peer-reviewed journals; it is also found in pain thresholds, in trauma survived, in years of managing chronic conditions, in knowing when something feels off in your own body long before a scan confirms it
a good doctor gains more insight listening to a patient who has battled an illness more than any textbook will ever teach
and now, in an era where AI models can pass medical board tests, the line between possession of information and the authority to use it is thinner than ever
while AI doesn't replace medical practitioners, it does prove something important: information is no longer gated
the privilege, then, lies not in knowing, but in practicing. in being there when theory meets consequence. in standing accountable when outcomes are uncertain
so yes, pride yourself on your clinical practice—the ward rounds, the call shifts, the real-world messiness that a Google search can't prepare anyone for. that practice is sacred, and it should be defended
but don't use it to silence people. use it to serve
because when people speak about their bodies, their freedoms, their lived truths—they're not trying to compete with your expertise
they're trying to complement it. they're asking to be seen, not diagnosed
and in that moment, what's needed is not just exceptional brilliance, but empathy
adios 👋
Hey guys!
Does anyone have or know where I can find credible reports about the LRA war in Northern Uganda, apart from internet sources?
Interested in official reports by institutions like the UHRC, Amnesty International, or even any commissions of inquiry (if any).
Ugandans are witnessing such an arrogant and public record/evidence of abuse, and they’re laughing and cheering the man on?!!
I can’t even begin to explain how utterly heartbroken I am!🥹

So the clip before this one shows two young women raising questions on sexual harassment. This clip and much more was Isaac’s response. To sum this up, I can guarantee that Isaac’s regime will be characterized with sexual harassment and violence against women by men.
That moment when your brain signals finally land on an interesting (and viable) research topic!📌🥳
I feel like Archimedes😂

It's like using your kindergarten marks to apply for a PhD 😅

Folks, Museveni doesn’t commit those atrocities single-handedly. He acts through real people with agency. Not robots. So when we criticize people for joining or siding with the NRA, we’re saying that we know they’ve actively CHOSEN to enact Museveni’s atrocities against us.

Banange we are not merely disagreeing on a trivial matter, but rather, we are confronting a fundamental issue. The fact that someone would choose to align themselves with a political party that has systematically dehumanized a significant % of its citizens is actually concerning!
