I’m not upset. And I’m replying to what you’re saying. You mentioned being the brain so while you didn’t make that argument it’s a very common idea that we are the brain, so brought that into frame just to show how our common assumptions can blind us. And I’m not just a guy I don’t have all the studies bookmarked and catalogued but they are out there. You’ve been reducing God to some psychological need for meaning and authority and I’ve been trying to show what the question of God is actually about. And how so much of the ground you’re standing on to look down your nose at this question is built upon all these hidden assumptions and stale conclusions.

Sigh.. you can actually investigate this directly because you’re inside what you wish to study.. but we tend to screen out our subjectivity even as we use it to explore ourselves “objectively”. Even this idea that the brain is where our consciousness and intelligence is originating from and isolated to, is being disproven by science. We are an organism not a machine we’re not made of parts, our intelligence and experience is distributed throughout our form. Even our gut plays a direct role in our consciousness. There are other kinds of knowing that aren’t based upon conceptualization and reasoning. They are worth exploring especially if one is interested in din self knowledge…

Do you think because dogs and chickens appear to not contemplate their existence it’s in some way a lesser experience? I’m trying to gesture toward the fact that you do not end and begin at your skin. That your higher reasoning isn’t isolated nor insular, neither is your sense of self. All of that is what existence is doing, what it’s capable of, what you are to eat tip of a curly q that existence is authoring.

Where do you think you come from? If you’re an exciting within convergence of processes then your intelligent isolated to you, your sentience your awake awareness that’s all an inherent property of the universe at large that it’s yielding to you.

Because all that we are is inherited from what all that is… is doing. When people talk about God they are referencing this greater order that gives way to our lifetimes. And we can drape that order in categories and labels. But all we’re doing is observing what’s being done and labeling patterns within a greater pattern. I’m not saying you’re suggesting that but it’s low key implied in your train of thought. Like the very senses you’re using to critique all this is part of what’s being given to us. The very fact that anything is intelligible at all is part of that same dance. It’s a strange kind of hubris to sit at the end of a major convergence of happenings that you cannot claim power or authority over and think our naming and noting of what’s already happening is the true authority.

It’s like you’ve lost all curiosity. Do you really think we are the height of intellectual thought and consideration.. that it’s insular to human being? We are what the universe is doing. We are not the origin of our intellect or even our experience. It’s not about seeking an authority it’s about recognizing how everything we are is given to us.

True as well… it’s something I am aware of and try to mind… I also think tho it’s just very human and I have to laugh at myself. I think it’s good to be human too.. to care to become obsessed. It’s just another opportunity to reorientate.. to check in, and to be humbled.

Well said... And as you said it is heartening to know I am not alone on this path.

You’re not going to convince me to abandon something I willingly entered, and am finding fruitful in my own life and practice. I understand your reservations and doubt. I am aware how of how divisive and exclusive Christian language can sound which is part of why I’m on here.

It’s becoming clear to me that you likely haven’t existed within any type of spiritual community. You’ve likely traveled and learned largely alone. And that can shape how you engage others. As it stands I imagine you would find any group or community intolerable.. you’d likely leave it or be ejected. You’re very bull in a china shop right now…

@NickHintonn is right tho... We're more likely to worship the our ideas of God in an idol like fashion if we settle for any particular ideas about God. There's no need to mystify God as he is inherently mysterious.. which means endlessly knowable.

I haven't asked anything of you other than to stop projecting all over me. I am actively exploring a Christ centered path so thats how I am going to talk. I get that you have made up your mind in regards to the legitimacy of such a path and I don't feel the need to disuade you of that. But I am not a fool nor am I imprisoned by path I have willingly entered into. You seem to think I am speaking from the knowledge i have about this path. But I am not I am speaking from direct experience. I am always focused on truth and I am not beholden to any particular framework.

Also it would be nice if you stopped placing yourself above me. We have not entered into a student teacher dynamic yet you keep speaking as if we have. I am not opposed to learning from what you offer but I am not your student. And if you plan to teach others I think it would be good for you understand people have to consent to being your student for that dynamic to be fruitful..

Right and I believe you I am not questioning your work or results. My issue is you keep speaking as if you can see inside me, as if you have insight into my experience. You even seem to speak as if you know that I have not cultivated the eyes to see and ears to hear.. you couldn’t be more wrong..

I really wish you would stop speaking as if you have insight into my experience or the depths of my insight.. you don’t know about my own transformative experience, yet your confidence to speak as if you do is… disconcerting.

When I speak of Christ revealing our participation in life, I'm not trying to impose Christianity upon something universal. I'm exploring how Christianity itself speaks to that universality. Christ is cosmic and not necessarily particular to Christianity as a religion. As a faith they were reaching to name something about the character of existence. That divine current you are so often speaking of. We're talking about Source (God) and the underlying creative intelligence, order, and coherence through which existence unfolds (Logos/Christ). Not something separate from life, but something we can recognize at work within it. Christian mysticism offers one beautiful way of exploring and articulating this mystery, without pretending to exhaust it.

I don’t know about these distortions you see.. but I have seen my heart opening, I have been enjoying prayer and communion. Seems like it’s all working as intended. The truth is the truth, no matter what we call it or how we reference it. I have been enjoying how Christian mysticism shapes my experience and approach. It seems to be working. It’s bearing fruits in me. I have been finding my experiences and words reflected in past saints and mystics. So I’m not seeing the distortion.

I’m not protecting anything I don’t even really feel the need to. I’ve been practicing a Christ centered path and it’s bearing fruits so I have no complaints here and I feel no need to defend it. Believe what you want.

I dunno bro.. You're obviously doing your own interpreting. It's clear you hear the truth of what I am saying but it seems you have a beef with Christian language. Which I totally get... I had my own problems with it as well. I still wrestle with some of them but I think thats holy.
