Training for geological exploration of the Moon starts underwater.🌙
For the first time in the @NASAArtemis program, two @NASA exploration geologists and Artemis science officers suited up together for a lunar training development session in NASA’s Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory @NASAJohnson. Side by side, they tested our prototype geology tools and deployed a mock lunar payload under low-angle lighting, mirroring the extreme environment of the lunar South Pole.
Training like this is helping pave the way for Artemis IV, the mission that will return astronauts to the lunar surface for the first time in more than 50 years.
At the Hokkaido Space Summit 2026, @Astro_Wakata, Axiom Space’s CTO for Asia Pacific, shared how we’re advancing low-Earth orbit by partnering with industry, nations, and academia to shape the future of human spaceflight, exploration, and discovery.
“What we have read in the RFP are things that we can live with. We can certainly deliver something that can meet the national objectives as outlined in the RFP.” -Dr. Jonathan Cirtain CEO and President, @Axiom_Space

Last week at IAC 2026 in Antalya, we had a highly fruitful discussion on the future of microgravity research and in-space manufacturing.
It was a pleasure to moderate this Special Session which brought together distinguished experts, Dr. Pınar Mesci of @Axiom_Space, Mary Murphy of @voyagertech_ , Mike Gold of @Redwire and Dr. Nicole Wagner of @LambdaVision.
From advanced materials, compound semiconductors and crystal growth to tissue engineering, cancer research, novel therapeutics and biomanufacturing, we discussed where microgravity can provide advantages that simply cannot be replicated in the same way on Earth and what still needs to be solved before these capabilities can be deployed at commercial scale.
Microgravity research is about much more than enabling humanity’s future in space. Over the coming decades, it has the potential to contribute meaningful solutions to some of the major health and climate related challenges facing our global community. And alongside that societal impact lies a major economic opportunity. If we can successfully translate scientific discoveries made in microgravity into scalable products, we can create significant financial value and entirely new industries at the intersection of space, medicine, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing.
Once again, many thanks to our distinguished panelists and everyone who joined us in Antalya for contributing to this important conversation.
Ad astra 🚀
“We are very excited to continuing working with the @NationalSCF team to build on results from previous missions, including the Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3),” -Dr. Pinar Mesci, PhD, MSc, NSCF Scientific Advisor and Global Head of Biomanufacturing and Biotechnology at Axiom Space.

Axiom Space is building the infrastructure that government and commercial customers need for advanced space-based capabilities, including orbital compute. At #IAC2026 we announced progress on Axiom Resilient Compute alongside @KeplerComms.
"Satellite sensor and operations systems generate more data than communication systems can transmit to ground stations during an orbit. The capacity to generate space-based data will only increase, and the solution isn't just more bandwidth; it's less dependence on bandwidth in the first place, by securely processing data close to where it's captured. That's the problem ARC exists to solve." - Dr. Jonathan Cirtain, CEO and President, Axiom Space

“The Axiom Space, Exobiosphere MoU signifies our shared commitment to advancing groundbreaking research, biomedical research and development, and fosters cooperation to enable novel discoveries that can only take place in the microgravity environment,” said Dr. Lucie Low, Axiom Space Chief Science Officer.

Proven power for the missions that matter most.
Redwire has been awarded a follow-on contract to provide Roll-Out Solar Array Wings for @Axiom_Space’s Second Space Station Module.
"We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to provide Axiom Space with additional ROSAs," said Mike Gold, President of Redwire Space. "The unparalleled track record of ROSA supporting the International Space Station (ISS) in low-Earth orbit (LEO) makes it the ideal system to provide the robust power needed to support Axiom Space's global customers and pioneering commercial space station, Axiom Station. At Redwire, we're committed to leveraging our proven, heritage systems such as ROSA – with its 100-percent success rate in a wide variety of space environments from LEO, to GEO, and beyond – to be a part of Axiom Space's mission to revolutionize both space and life on Earth via microgravity research, development, and manufacturing."

Congratulations to astronaut and Senior Vice President of Human Spaceflight Training, Dr. Peggy Whitson (@AstroPeggy), for her induction into the National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) as part of the Class of 2026.
It's #NationalSewingMonth, and we're spotlighting the people behind every stitch in our Soft Goods Lab.
Meet Joan Kranz. You may recognize her last name: her father is Gene Kranz, the legendary Apollo 11, 13 and 17 flight director. The words, "Failure is not an option," are taped above her station in the Soft Goods Lab. Now, as Artemis carries Apollo's name forward, Joan is helping build the suit that will carry the next generation of astronauts back to the lunar surface.
It's #NationalSewingMonth, and we're spotlighting the people behind every stitch in our Soft Goods Lab. 🧵
Meet Nikki Brazil. Her path started in a high school fashion design class through a NASA high school STEAM program, where she spent a semester building cargo transfer bags. Now, as Soft Goods Group Lead, Nikki guides the team building the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (#AxEMU), translating between technicians and engineers so every stitch meets the precision required to keep an astronaut safe on the Moon.

Excellent meeting with @Axiom_space.
American commercial space leadership is critical, not only for innovation but to keep space free, safe, and secure.
UN agencies set standards for orbits, spectrum, and space debris.
It's #NationalSewingMonth and we're spotlighting the people behind every stitch in our Soft Goods Lab. 🧵
Meet Anna Kate Reynolds whose path here started far from aerospace, building costumes for @Cirque du Soleil. It was her grandfather who told her to apply for a Sewing Technician role at Axiom Space. Now she's sewing the fabric that will help protect astronauts on the lunar surface, work precise enough to help write the next chapter of human space exploration. #AxEMU
It's #NationalSewingMonth and we're spotlighting the people behind every stitch in our Soft Goods Lab. 🧵
Meet Linda Gomez. Sewing is in her DNA, literally. Her grandmother sewed clothes for the family, her mother built a marine canvas business from the ground up, and Linda followed, stitching sail covers and upholstery long before a recruiter spotted her work online and brought her to Axiom Space.
To Linda, sewing isn't just a hobby, it's a craft that's shaped human history and carries real weight; she's helping build the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (#AxEMU) that will protect astronauts on the lunar surface during future #Artemis missions.
For Linda, the stakes high: "It means somebody's safety in the long run. We have to get it right the first time."
In Paris, Axiom Space and The Exploration Company entered into a Cargo Services pre-booking agreement for space transportation and logistics. We will work together on the critical architecture needed to support human space exploration onboard #AxiomStation.
President John F. Kennedy declared at Rice University 64 years ago that we were going to the Moon. Today, we're going back, supporting new science and technology to benefit humanity, protected by the next-generation spacesuit, the #AxEMU. @astro_reid visited Axiom Space recently to talk to the team making the suit! Go #Artemis and #TeamAxiom!

Frank Culbertson, Expedition 3 Commander aboard the @Space_Station, captured this photo as smoke rose from the Twin Towers in New York City 25 years ago today.
We pause to reflect on that terrible day and pay tribute to the victims, survivors, and heroes of the 9/11 attacks.
“The path to a sustainable human presence in space runs through international collaboration and partners who bring real capability. Europe's contributions to microgravity science and deep space technology make @esa exactly that kind of partner,” said Dr. Jonathan Cirtain, CEO and President of @Axiom_Space.
