Sasha, Arizona law is clear. County Recorders have a legal duty to maintain accurate voter rolls and verify eligibility.
A.R.S. § 16-165 mandates voter-roll maintenance, while 16-121.01 establishes citizenship-verification requirements and Class 6 felony penalties for certain knowing violations.
A presumption of lawful registration does NOT eliminate the Recorder's statutory duty to remove unqualified registrants.
I wrote several bills on this all killed by Hobbs. All of this could be avoided with a "investigative status field on AVID". Allows the voter to remain while investigation takes place.
The Recorfer is obligated to enforce the law while protecting eligible voters' rights. So if Mayes has proof of citizenship, she could have sent the proof.
Your concern that it could happen to anyone.... it should happen to anyone found to be unqualified.
Do you really think a sitting Recorder would remove registrants without having evidence.. if the evidence is incorrect... as he said they will be restored. Show the evidence is the easy fix... hard for the left.
Another issue the MVD send the registration to SOS 1st. That is a fail.. it should go to the Recorder, for adjudication before going to SOS.

The 1922 Colorado River Compact. was negotiated by SEVEN STATES, not dictated by Washington.
The 1963 Supreme Court ruling, Arizona v. California**, specifically addressed state water allocations and federal authority.
Arizona even has the Compact codified in **A.R.S. §45-1311**.

Stand Indivisible Arizona (endorsed Gov. Hobbs in its 2026 ballot guide) — Our journalist posed as a Canadian citizen and asked to register to vote. The canvasser not only agreed to help the alleged non-citizen register but also, when asked whether other Canadians could register too, said, "Tell them to do it online."
Worker Power (working to re-elect Gov. Hobbs) — Our journalist told a canvasser they were not a U.S. citizen. Despite this, at our journalist’s request, the canvasser marked “yes” on the citizenship question of the voter registration form.
When We Count (the DNC’s own registration program) — Our journalist posed as a felon on probation and asked to register to vote. The canvassers looked up the law and saw that a felon on probation is ineligible. Even so, they encouraged our journalist to register: “You should just do it.”
AFL-CIO (phone bank mobilizing voters for Gov. Hobbs) — Our undercover journalist asked a phone bank trainer whether to ask the people being called if they're citizens. The trainer’s answer: “We don’t care.”
Our journalists stopped every exercise before any voter registration form was submitted.

When questioned about future contractor donations, she refused to rule them out.
This is exactly why Arizona needs full disclosure of every dollar connecting state contractors, political committees, and the governor's election.

As far as water, ask Hobbs, we sent forward several bills dealing with all forigen entities, using any natural resource, or owning land.

I am quite sure the Recorder has followed the law and sent notice. The individual has the burden of proof, and if there is an error the Recorder will remedy.

No where in the statute does it say, the AG or her memo is the standard of proof.
Mayes did not prove they are Citizens.
More importantly, what original federal or state records did Mitchell use to establish citizenship for each of the 52 individuals. Hope it wasn't the corrupt MVD records.
UPDATE: Arizona Attorney General @AZAGMayes tells Maricopa County Recorder @RecordersOffice she is prepared to sue if his office does not reinstate voting rights to 24 Arizonans who were allegedly noncitizens—but were confirmed to be citizens by @Rachel1Mitchell. Expect action this week.
