Thesis
- Sprotos are the soul of the pre-launchpad trenches and the originator of funny/degen/trippy/borderline schizo art that had taste
- When I come across a sproto PFP on CT, I have come across a friend until proven otherwise and there is an ample organic community
- The OGs in this community have proven they truly don't give a fuck about price, just look at how quickly they scooped up the ethereum:0x72e4f9f808c49a2a61de9c5896298920dc4eeea9 dip below 10M MC instead of it turning into some forever resistance to get over
- The team hasn't abandoned, they still show up and are actively posting aesthetic work which I think may be reflected when momentum returns to ETH onchain
Aesthetic
- No traits, no rarities, as you can see each is a 1 of 1 and in fact I see many grails on/near the floor
- There are some traits more scarce than others, but too many to define, list and filter
- While I don't mind the standard trait format many other projects use, this NFT collection feels like it has personality, like it is really meant to be your PFP when one or more may call to you
- Collecting NFTs with standard trait format feels like collecting pokemon cards, collecting Sproto Gremlins feels like collecting the pokemon themselves
Valuation
- $500 per NFT and 3,333 supply makes it so Sprotos can reach higher floor prices before market cap competes with 10,000 supply collections
- In a future bullish NFT environment where traders emphasize scarcity and mindshare, one might make an argument for Sproto Gremlins to potentially reach Bored Apes current bear market valuation (8 ETH, 152M MC) as the next target after sprotos current ATH of 4.2 ETH from 2024
