Struggling since it was acquired? Then they were never prepared to handle companies like that then. Why was the company thriving, quite literally, before it was acquired? Which is also why they acquired it in the first place. The company was not the issue, it’s always been them.

"Anti-piracy" but what's happened to the self-publish authors like me?
Kakao is literally saying: "We don't want foreigners, so we're going to shut down Tapas and focus on our audience in Korea." And by doing this, they're not only blocking "their content"—they're removing all foreign material from independent authors!
It's not an anti-piracy system; it's a "sophisticated" way of saying they don't want anything to do with foreign countries
About the Tapas shutdown, since I was once an original author with the ORIGINAL TAPAS teams of the plateform. Everything gone to shit the day KAKAO bought Tapas. The shutdown felt like the end but i can tell you I already made my goodbye since that day 4 years ago.
If you have any website you want to see our works be after tapas, please let us know in the comment as lot of us are already looking for new place to host our stories.
Why the fuck do I learn that, as a posting and once official tapas author, on a tweet rather than by e-mail???
kakao ent. plans to shut down both kakao webtoon (kkw) and tapas.
in addition for shutting down kkw they will merge everything in kakaopage (kkp) and transfer all remained cash, purchased eps, and subs tickets you have on kkw to kkp.
