Florida State University cut the ribbon Friday Oct. 30 on its new FSU Health Research and Collaboration Building and announced that the facility will be named for Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson, whose leadership helped secure the funding that made the project possible.
The 137,000-square-foot facility, located on the @FSU_Health Tallahassee Memorial Hospital campus, marks a major milestone in the growth of FSU’s integrated academic health system. It brings clinicians, researchers, students and community partners together under one roof to advance medical research, train healthcare professionals and improve patient care. #FSUHealth

LeBron James was born to a 16-year-old single mother in Akron, Ohio. He bounced between friends just to have a place to sleep. Then this country handed him everything.
It gave him over $500 million in NBA salary and over $1 billion more in endorsements and business deals. Forbes puts his net worth at $1.4 billion. He was the first active NBA player in history to become a billionaire.
And when the national anthem plays for the country that made all of that possible, he can't give it two minutes of respect.
No hand over his heart. No standing still. He's goofing around, flailing his arms, flapping around, pretending to shoot a basketball, doing literally anything except honoring the flag that turned a kid from Akron into a billionaire.
That's not a protest. That's not a statement. That's just disrespect.
Millions of Americans work their whole lives and never see a fraction of what this country gave him. Men and women died so he could play a game for a living in front of sold-out arenas. The least he could do is stand there and act like it means something.
AP voter Greg Luca had Miss State #18 and Pitt #23 last week.
Miss State lost by 33 points to Alabama.
Pitt beat 4-0 Virginia Tech on the road.
You want to know where he has those two ranked in his ballot today?
He moved 4-1 Miss State up to #10.
He dropped 5-0 Pitt to unranked.
Yes, he moved Miss State UP 8 SPOTS FOR LOSING BY 33 POINTS, and dropped Pitt OUT OF THE RANKINGS FOR BEATING AN UNDEFEATED TEAM ON THE ROAD.

I’ve worked hard to improve the Protect College Sports Act.
Increasing the conference cap to 20 was important to our Florida universities and their programs, and we got that done.
I will always fight for Floridians and all of our state universities.
Proud to do so.

Here's a link to our latest story from last week on a bill that is expected to pass the Senate but faces an uphill climb in the House - most notably because of a conference expansion provision that has divided the ACC and now involves the White House

Have you ever noticed we live in a country where a 95-year-old man can walk into a mud pit in Chicago, call his band The Fuckers, and start reciting “Enter Sandman” like he’s giving a TED Talk from the afterlife?
William Shatner. Ninety-five. Riot Fest. Douglass Park. Thirty-five minutes. Spoken-word heavy metal. In the mud. With people cheering like this is normal.
It is not normal. It is magnificent.
He did “Crazy Train.” He did “Ace of Spades.” He did Metallica. Not sang them. Talked them. Like Captain Kirk got trapped in a guitar amp and decided to negotiate with Satan instead of the Klingons.
Behind him: actual musicians. Marcus Nand. Phil Soussan. Grown men who have paid rent with real notes while a nonagenarian stands there going, “What the F is heavy metal?” and somehow makes it a question worth answering.
Brian May is on the record. Tony Iommi is on the record. The album is called *What the F Is Heavy Metal?* which is the most honest title in music since someone first admitted most of it is just louder complaining.
The crowd ate it up. Of course they did. We will watch a man old enough to remember radio as furniture stand in wet dirt and dare death to tap him on the shoulder. Death probably took one look, said “I’m not dealing with this today,” and went to find someone easier.
You’re never too old to live out your dreams. That’s the line they always use. The real line is: most people quit the second it gets embarrassing. Shatner waited until embarrassing became the whole act, then sold tickets.
Follow @wickedsmaahht before the rest of the timeline figures it out.

The Protect College Sports Act represents an important step toward restoring order to college athletics, and we are grateful to @SenAshleyMoody and @SenRickScott for working to address the bill’s provisions related to conference realignment. Their leadership is helping protect the ability of our Florida universities to compete and succeed in an increasingly dynamic collegiate athletics landscape while advancing much-needed national reforms.

I don’t blame her. She is merely the latest symptom of the metropolitan clerical class that has spent decades sanding the Christianity off the Church of England until all that remains is a sort of ecclesiastical diversity department with stained glass. (Or a nightclub at St. Paul's)
There are some great parish priests but for too many senior clergy, faith has been replaced by virtue signalling, doctrine by fashionable causes and truth by whatever the bien-pensant in North London currently think is nice.
The modern CofE hierarchy has perfected the holy trinity of gesture, apology and review. It has become so terrified of offending everyone else that it has forgotten the one being it is actually supposed to answer to.

Just so I understand: The NCAA can retroactively vacate wins and losses that happened 5 years ago because a guy took a cheeseburger or made money off his image before NIL, but can’t vacate a very clear instance where the wrong team won a game after being gifted a free play!?

Every tribe in Britain had been fighting each other for centuries. ⚔️
Then they looked at what was coming across the water.
And stopped. 🇬🇧
54 BC. Julius Caesar landed on the coast of Kent with twenty seven thousand men across eight hundred ships.
The largest invasion force the ancient world had ever seen.
According to the Roman historian Tacitus, the British tribes buried their ancient grudges and chose one leader to face them.
A warlord from north of the Thames.
His name was Cassivellaunus.
Caesar expected a pitched battle. Line up the legions. Crush the Britons in the open field. Home by winter.
Cassivellaunus looked at five Roman legions.
And sent his own army home. Every soldier. Gone.
Caesar’s own account, written in his Commentarii de Bello Gallico, records what happened next. The Roman column marched inland. And found nothing but trees. And silence. And the sound of distant wheels.
Cassivellaunus kept four thousand chariots.
He used them to strike the Roman column from the forest without warning, then vanish before the legions could respond.
Crops were burned ahead of the march. Wells were sealed. The land was stripped of everything an army needed to survive.
He didn’t fight Caesar.
He made Britain the weapon. 🇬🇧
For weeks the greatest general alive chased a ghost through the trees.
Outmanoeuvred by a man he couldn’t find. 👀
Part 3 coming soon. 🇬🇧
