Good work doesn’t always go: plan → success Sometimes it goes: plan → try → learn → change → try again. That middle part matters too.

A spreadsheet can tell you what changed. A local leader can often tell you why. You probably want both in the room.

Safe water, sanitation and hygiene are not luxuries—they are essential for health, education, gender equality and economic growth.

I have spent this week in Machinga district, reviewing the two-and-a-half year progress of @trocaire’s @Irish_Aid funded program, which focuses on building sustainable livelihoods and managing natural resources. A notable highlight from my interactions with community structures, such as Village Natural Resource Management Committees, Lead Farmers, Village Disaster Risk Management Committees, and Village Savings and Loan Groups, was the community-led action plans driving sustainable food systems, natural resource restoration, advocacy campaigns, and business investments. From hand-drawn maps identifying disaster-prone areas to notebook-written action plans outlining resource needs and timelines, the communities in Traditional Authority Chamba and Mposa demonstrate persistent dedication. This inspiring desire to rewrite the community outlook reinforces my quest to explore synergies in project overlap, resource mobilization, and capacity development. Last year, mega-donor MacKenzie Scott pledged to do good not just with the money she gave away, but with the cash she invested in the stock market too. How many other foundations are following the same trend? devex.com/news/foundations-o…

Tomorrow is #WorldWaterDay2025! Let’s shed light on the vital role glaciers play in our water supply! These majestic ice formations, holding 69% of the world’s freshwater, are threatened by climate change. As they melt, they nourish rivers and sustain ecosystems
