Sully was President Bush’s service dog who worked with the president after Barbara Bush died. According to @CNN’s @jamiegangel, Sully will be traveling with Bush on Air Force One tomorrow. Eventually, Sully will likely go back to helping veterans at Walter Reed. What a good dog.

The demographic patterns, which I didn't put into my Atlantic article on majors (theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…) are interesting. At one extreme, there are than less half as many Asian women majoring in history as there were eight years ago; at the other, black men are down "only" 25%.

I wrote about the decline in history majors since the great recession for the upcoming issue of @AHAhistorians Perspectives.
historians.org/publications-… History saw the greatest decline of any field in the period after 2011: down 33% in absolute numbers.
