Those who are stoking violence and beating the drums of war in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections will not escape the consequences of their actions. Politicians must not hide behind campaign slogans to incite violence or cause mayhem. The acts of violence currently occurring across the country during political campaigns must be unequivocally condemned by all.
THEY HIT US WITH DAGGERS!
Comrade Noah, Delta State Deputy Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has been stabbed and is currently receiving treatment at FMC. Several others have also sustained injuries.
But let us ask a fundamental question: What kind of political atmosphere are we creating in Nigeria?
When a President makes statements suggesting that all is fair in politics, what message does that send? When APC chieftains openly threaten opponents with AK-47s, when serving senators make inflammatory statements against the opposition, and when political leaders talk about driving opposition members out of their states, what do we expect? This is how political violence is normalised. This is how intimidation becomes acceptable, and how a nation slides towards anarchy.
Words from people in power carry consequences. When political leaders legitimise aggression, their followers may interpret it as permission to attack, intimidate, destroy and even kill.
Democracy is not warfare. Opposition is not a crime. Political competition is not a licence to murder. We demand an immediate investigation, accountability and justice for Comrade Noah and everyone injured.
Nigeria must not become a country where the price of participating in democracy is a dagger in the stomach or a bullet in the chest.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! No political ambition is worth a single Nigerian life.
Dr Mo
National Coordinator, Global Obidient Movement
The group’s conduct is toxic and will conclude in January 2026. Nigeria remains one, and ethnic bigotry must not be accommodated within our institutions.
You’re right that Peter Obi recorded some unexpected victories in 2023. However, the 2027 election will be fought under very different circumstances. In 2023, there was broad acceptance that it was the South’s turn.
Several factors will now shape the outcome. First, many Nigerians believe President Tinubu should be allowed to complete the South’s turn. Second, the current economic hardship is a major political reality. Third, there is considerable reluctance in the North to accept the argument that Peter Obi should serve only a single, non-constitutional four-year term. Fourth, Atiku Abubakar’s promise to restore the fuel subsidy will appeal to a significant section of the electorate. Finally, the power of incumbency, particularly the influence of the presidency over governors, INEC, and the security agencies cannot be discounted.
If the opposition is truly concerned about the suffering of ordinary Nigerians rather than individual ambitions to become president, then they must set aside their differences and present a united front against President Tinubu.
Replying to @BO_Mayor
Bros, especially Southeast, can you remind us again how many governors Peter Obi had when he won all the states. He even won Lagos where the President claimed he built. Rig and did is not promoting violence, it is preventing it. It is only those whose aim is to rig who are promoting violence
Almost all South-East states are APC controlled except Anambra and Abia, and Anambra’s governor has already taken a stand. The whole South South is APC, and the South West, President Tinubu’s zone is almost fully APC except Osun and Oyo, Osun has also backed Tinubu.
APC running those states doesn’t guarantee victory, but Federal and State governments working together against the opposition in those above listed states will influence the results 100%. The oppositions must work harder and align with grassroots actors to get some votes and stop promoting violence Slogan "Rig and Die"
Your comment is an emotional blackmail. Under the Land Use Act, the FCT Minister controls all FCT land and can recover excess or undocumented holdings for public use and the master plan. UniAbuja’s claimed 11,000+ ha is a title dispute for the courts. Your claim of Family-grab of lands in FCT by @GovWike can be taken to court if you have evidence. No be everything una go dey handle with insults.
I hope the Independent National Electoral Commission @inecnigeria will exercise caution and refrain from hastily implementing today’s judgment against the current executives and candidates of the African Democratic Congress @ADCNig. The shortcomings of both the judiciary and INEC are largely responsible for the off-cycle elections that continue to characterise our democracy today.
NDC could face something similar. With the elections still months away, Nigerians need to keep a close eye on the judiciary. The judiciary is ruining our democracy

The biggest world Crypto currency heist ever just happened at @binance, they lost about $6.36 billion. It’s the kind of thing that makes you stop and think. Binance and a few experts are pointing the finger at North Korea, but North Korea has denied it publicly. Part of me wonders if it could’ve been people on the inside who just took the money themselves. One of the scariest things about crypto is how hard it is to track the stolen funds once they’re gone.
As Peter Obi’s 2023 running mate, you are widely believed to hold information that could seriously damage him especially in the NORTH where he is finding it difficult to penetrate, Using it, however, would be an unfortunate path.
As a respected educator, many expect you to observe basic principles of confidentiality and ethical restraint. Please do not allow social media provocations to push you into lowering that standard.
Nigeria’s democracy resembles that of the United States, yet its electoral system enables corruption, manipulation, and federal level intimidation that undermines constitutional institutions. Introducing midterm elections for the State and Federal Assemblies, along with an Electoral College for the presidency, would reduce presidential dominance and curb candidate anointment.
If Onanuga, Reno Omokri, Daniel Bwala and the rest dumped President @officialABAT for Peter Obi tomorrow, Obi’s camp would roll out the red carpet and celebrate. There are no permanent enemies in politics, only permanent interests. That is precisely why Hon. Minister Nyesom @GovWike continues to command attention, he understands that alliances are transactional, not emotional, and acts accordingly.
If the opposition parties had dropped their egos and stayed together to field solid candidates against Tinubu, this campaign season would have been a completely different ball game. The video clips coming out of these campaign gatherings are nowhere near what we saw in 2023. The playbook still looks the same as last time, and in the end, it only positions them as vote suppressors for the major opposition to President Tinubu.
Nigeria keeps giving @inecnigeria to professors like Joash Amupitan. Law doesn’t say it has to be one. They pick academics because they look neutral, yet we’ve still had disputed results, including cases where returning officers, often professors helped put people with questionable certificates into office.
The real problem is not the professor title. A sitting president still chooses the referee for an election his own party is contesting. That alone breeds suspicion.
