His record shows that he labeled border security funding as “wasting money on dumb things,” and instead supported diverting $800 million in funds away from protecting our borders. He voted AGAINST creating a Border Protection Unit and he has called for “pathways” to citizenship, aka “AMNESTY” for illegal aliens. At least 25 million illegal aliens invaded the US during the 4 years of the disastrous Biden Administration and openly advocating for pathways to citizenship is NOT putting America First and will lead to the destruction of America as we know it. Members of the National Border Patrol Council were honored to join Governor @GregAbbott_TX and law enforcement leaders from across Texas at the Governor’s Mansion in recognition of October as Law Enforcement Appreciation Month.
For the National Border Patrol Council, this month is an opportunity to recognize the men and women who serve on the front lines every day — including the thousands of Border Patrol agents who work in some of the most demanding and dangerous environments in federal law enforcement.
Border Patrol agents understand firsthand the sacrifices that come with wearing the badge. Our members work long hours, spend time away from their families, and routinely place themselves in harm’s way while protecting our borders, responding to emergencies, combating human smuggling and drug trafficking, and safeguarding the communities they serve.
NBPC was proud to be represented alongside our state and local law enforcement partners and to recognize the strong working relationships that exist between Border Patrol agents, Texas DPS personnel, sheriffs’ offices, police departments, and other law enforcement agencies throughout Texas.
Thank you to Governor Abbott for recognizing the contributions of law enforcement officers across Texas and for hosting members of the National Border Patrol Council at the Governor’s Mansion.

#BREAKING Law enforcement sources confirm that roughly 500 troops are deploying this week to Texas’ Rio Grande Valley —Being dropped onto islands by chinook helicopters.
It comes after suspected cartel members shot at a USCG vessel near Roma over the weekend—The coast guard returned fire.
@USCG in a statement saying, “On Sept. 26, Coast Guard Forces Rio Grande personnel encountered gunfire from the Mexican border in the vicinity of Garceno, Texas while conducting joint interdiction operations with federal partners on the Rio Grande. Coast Guard personnel returned fire. No injuries to Coast Guard, or other personnel were reported, and no damage to Coast Guard assets was reported.
The Coast Guard works closely with U.S. Border Patrol, the Department of War and the Texas Military Department to secure the border, disrupt illicit activity and protect the American people. We will continue to leverage a layered, integrated approach to control, secure, and defend the border that strengthens our collective ability to counter illicit activity and safeguard our personnel and the communities we serve.
Threats to Coast Guard members and our partners are taken extremely seriously. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.”
