Having to keep your camera on the whole meeting is miserable when you're just listening.
45 minutes into a meeting that could’ve been a 2-line message, discussing an email thread that solved nothing. What’s the most absurd "corporate rule" or meeting etiquette you’ve ever had to endure?

Getting all the little onion pieces off the cutting board is such a pain.

I like to have everything ready before I start cooking. Less chance of burning something while I'm still chopping.
Which of these three approaches do you prefer when cooking? - Prep your ingredients as you cook. - Prep all your ingredients before you start cooking. - Prep your ingredients at the market and cook when you get home. Which one works best for you, and why?

I hope that shoebox made them realize how much the front office does every single day.
Our principal told the new teachers that the front office "just answers phones." He said it in the staff meeting, and I've sat at that desk for eleven years. I said, "Okay." Then I bought a shoebox and a pack of index cards for $4. Every time something came through the office that wasn't a phone call, I wrote it on a card and dropped it in the box. "Child with a fever, mom unreachable. Sat with her for 40 minutes." "Boy in the hall, no lunch. Gave him mine." "Parent crying in the lobby about a divorce. Made tea." "Fire drill. Counted every kid in the east wing, twice." I kept it up for the whole semester. When I finally stopped, the box wouldn't close. On the last day before winter break, the district superintendent came by to sign some papers. While the principal was talking to her in the hall, I slid the shoebox across the counter and said, "These are for you." I didn't explain, and I went back to the phones...

Those little diyas are beautiful. Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating
Arushi organizes and celebrates Diwali at TikTok offices in America. DIY diya and henna tattoo tutorials, speeches, crab dance and garb, decor with spicy sweets and snacks. The Indian government banned TikTok in 2020 yet @tiktok_us hires Indian nationals? Disclaimer: #publicvideo

That would make me so mad. A dealership should be figuring out what's wrong with the car.
Question for men drivers: has a fault in your car even been attributed by a dealership to your “driving style”? I see this so often in car-related complaints from women. And no, not always clutch related. In the case I got today the problem is loose lower control arms. I can’t recall a case where a male complainant was told his driving style caused the mechanical problem.

When you make cinnamon rolls, do you put the icing on while they're still warm or let them cool first?

I would be starving by 4pm lunch would have to happen way earlier for me.
What my idea of a very perfect day looks like.🥰 Wake up by 7am, say my prayers, meditate and stretch my body. Brush my teeth and drink 1ltr of water while sitting idly on my bed. 8am, take my bathe, drink a glass of fresh pineapple/orange juice. 9am, go to my work station and start working; replying mails, taking enquiries, scheduling meetings/appointments/interviews and delegating tasks. 10am, eat a big bowl of Greek yogurt, parfait or banana smoothie. 🫠 11am, take a cup of hot and very creamy tea ☕️ with 2 slices of bread. 12am come online to engage my sweet mutuals on X while still working. 🥰 Drink enough water again. 1pm, make lunch and go back to working aggressively and switching between my workstation and X till 4pm. 4pm, finally have my lunch and continue working again. 6pm, start rounding up with work. 7pm/8pm goes for a stroll, come back, have my shower, drink plenty water, catch up with friends on social media, reply messages and emails, watch a little movie if my eyes aren’t tired or come on X to see who is dragging who 👀 and also engage my mutuals. Sleep once I start feeling sleepy. Rinse and repeat. 🤝

That little Miata is so cute. I hope it treats you better than my car treats me lol.
Whenever I meet people in person, they’re always curious what I actually do for work (my posts are pretty vague) So allow me to reintroduce myself: I’m a CTO and co-founder based in Brooklyn NY My day job is at a PE firm in the Healthcare space My day to day: > Finding opportunities to cut costs across portfolio companies by building l tech in-house (it’s so much easier with AI) > Oversight and advising technology choices across all of our holdings > Building scalable systems to support acquisitions and growth Currently building two companies in the education and employee benefits space for the firm My dev team is all remote based in south America I post about: > film photography (I shoot streets around nyc, I own a Leica M2, Minolta Srt 201, Talker and the Autocord) > cars (I daily an 02 miata in brooklyn) > writing > tinkering (mediocre soldering skills) > meeting strangers around nyc (talk to strangers) > gym progress (real men have abs) > my work > my side projects (see bio) I’m married with 2 beautiful daughters Follow me if any of the above interests you :)

That poor girl. I hope she gets through this and still gets to become the nurse she worked so hard to be.
My best friend invited me to her nursing school graduation, and I happily took the day off work to attend. When I arrived, I couldn't find her name on the program. I called her, confused, and she whispered, "Please don't leave. There's something I need you to do for me." Then I saw her mother walking toward me with tears in her eyes. Her mother took my hand. "She didn't graduate," she explained. "She failed two clinical assessments and has to repeat the semester."

Stopped for a little sundae on the way home. I wasn't planning on it, but that cherry got me. 🍒
