🇨🇦🦃 Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! 🦃🇨🇦 Thanks to those for presenting at BSides Toronto 2026. If you missed any of the talks, here's a Video playlist of what was presented on Saturday this year: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…

That’s a wrap for day 1. These talks were all recorded and will be uploaded to youtube.com/@bsidestoronto32… about a week. Tomorrow’s talks are following Chatham house rules. chathamhouse.org/about-us/ch…

Now @moshetov gives us a walk through on pwning through IDE extensions out in the wild. There's no whitelisting around it because there's no new code, and even removing malicious or vulnerable ones doesn't fix it until the IDE is restarted. Wow

Thank you Najam Ul Saqib for travelling all the way to Toronto to give your talk on the Damn Vulnerable ElectronJS App and talking us through the idiosyncrasies and how to practice breaking them. It was a great talk and a useful tool you gave us

Shifting gears for a bit with Jason Murray reminding us of the real world motivators we need to play in the space with when convincing organizations to improve their security. His argument is risk runs the world of security. Managing it is what the business cares about

Aleksa Zatezalo blasted through his talk titled From Schema to Shell: The Agentic Exploitation of GraphQL APIs Some interesting tools shared and real world test results shared. Will be tracking this to see how it grows and refines

We've kicked off the talks with Justin Borland's The Malware is coming from inside the repo presentation. Gotta love seeing the community coming together and learning how to kick the bad guys out of our tool chains
