Harry Kane sets a new England appearance record of 126 when he plays against Croatia at Wembley on Thursday. FA has special plans to celebrate the landmark (and Kane’s Ballon d’Or). Andy Robertson sets a new Scotland appearance record of 103 if he plays against North Macedonia and Switzerland. Kane passes Peter Shilton. Robertson passes the great Sir Kenny Dalglish. Kane, 33, and Robertson, 32, have drawn on their innate determination to reach these landmarks. Ability, character, dedication, longevity. Not easy journeys, either with club or country. Both needed time to prove themselves at club level. Both Kane and Robertson have been whole-hearted performers for their countries, making their name, proving themselves and becoming captain.
