31 daily #NewIllustrationoftheDay images have been posted on my timeline since 19 March, pegged to publication, prizes or events. Happily, every single one has been reposted and multiply liked. But this was liked the most: congrats @BTeckentrup for the #NewIllustrationoftheMonth.
#NewIllustrationoftheDay. By Britta Teckentrup. An almost abstract image from a picturebook out today: When I Feel Brave - a little girl, the moon, a Jackson Pollock tangle of branches, and thoughts about fear and courage. And, on other pages, a very big bear. @Prestel_pub
I couldn’t be in Bologna this year, but was so happy that ‘The Cicada and the Old Ox‘ (written by Cao Wenxuan, Jacoby&Stuart/Jieli Publishing ) was one of the '100 Outstanding Picturebooks 2024' (Dipictus). I was also excited that ’The Swing’ was on the Premio Orbil shortlist :)

I’m a huge fan of @BTeckentrup and “When I feel Brave” is up there with her very best.
Visually stunning it captures that sense of fear. It’s about courage, facing fears and understanding that fear is OK and it’s part of us. Exquisitely written and illustrated. #PicturebookPage
Thank you so very much for this wonderful display! :-)
