We need more judges like this!!
God bless this judge .. A drunk diver’s mother was laughing while the victims gave their impact statements to the courts .. so she sentenced her to 93 days in jail ! Every judge should be like this !

This morning I submitted an official request to the District Attorney to be able to address the court at Mitchell Fairbarn's sentencing. Let me know what you think. To the Honorable Jacqueline Bluth, My name is John Waudby, and I am the founder of Nevada Animal Advocates. Thank you for allowing me to address the court on behalf of an animal who cannot speak for herself. I advocated for Peachy because what happened to her deserved accountability. I attended this trial because I believed her suffering deserved to be taken seriously. And I am here today to ask this court to impose a sentence to match the seriousness of the cruelty the jury found proven. Peachy is a living creature capable of feeling pain and fear. She depended on the people around her to respect her safety. She had no way to understand why someone would deliberately taunt, hurt and torture her, and she had no voice with which to ask him to stop, except for her cries in pain. Since 1995, visitors have come to this habitat to admire the birds. But for Peachy, this was not a tourist attraction. It was her home. Visiting Las Vegas does not give anyone permission to terrorize the animals who live here. Peachy was not a prop for someone’s joke or a souvenir to carry back to a hotel room. She was a living creature who deserved to be left in peace. Peachy survived, but she should never have had to survive this. Her survival does not erase her suffering or make what was done to her any less cruel. During the trial, I heard Mr. Fairbarn described his conduct as a joke he wanted to remember for the rest of his life. That statement has haunted me and many others in this community. What he described as a joke caused suffering to a sweet, defenseless animal. I respectfully ask the court to consider what those words reveal about his character and his appreciation of the harm he caused Peachy. My work helping champion Reba’s Law came from the belief that deliberate cruelty to animals demands meaningful consequences. Standing here today, that belief is deeply personal. I have opened my home to rescue dogs who endured severe abuse. I have seen how the effects of human cruelty can remain with an animal long after the violence ends. We could not save Reba. We could not undo her suffering. But we can honor her memory by insisting that the suffering of other animals matters and by seeking justice for Peachy. I recognize that this court must consider the evidence, the law, and the circumstances of this defendant. My request is that Peachy’s suffering remains central to that consideration. The sentence should reflect the willful and deliberate nature of the conduct and Peachy’s vulnerability. Your Honor, I respectfully ask you to impose the maximum prison sentence permitted by law for the convictions before you. No sentence can undo what happened to Peachy. But it can hold the person responsible accountable and affirm that cruelty towards any defenseless animal carries serious consequences. FOR THEM. FOR JUSTICE. FOR PEACHY. Thank you, Your Honor.
