A GUNMAN drove into Kraków's historic Main Market Square and opened FIRE on people in the heart of the Polish city.
Polish media now report FIVE people dead and more than a dozen injured.
The attacker was reportedly shot by police and taken to hospital. An officer was also wounded.
People fled into shops and cafés as ambulances, firefighters and an air ambulance helicopter rushed to the scene.
St. Mary's Basilica was closed amid the emergency response.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk says he's receiving updates from the Interior Minister as police investigate the attack.
The motive remains UNKNOWN, and authorities have not established whether this was terrorism.

At least TWO people have been killed and 10 others injured in the attack near the city's famous Main Market Square.
Reports indicate a police officer was wounded during the confrontation. He appears to lie next to the shooter.

Headache. Dysphoria. Flatness. Hearing phantom iPhone dings in my sleep.
Days 1-3 were more of a rush. I felt light and free.
On day 4, the withdrawals began. I've never had to kick something like this before.
Screens are a legit addiction.
I'm curious to see if the month 6 PET scan shows enhanced metabolism in regions that improve in drug addicts who quit like the thalamus, frontal cortex, and striatum (reward circuit).
There are no PET studies of people quitting screens, so Dr. Eber and I are breaking new ground.

🚨 ONE SYSTEM FAILED. ATMS AT 128 JAPANESE LENDERS WENT OFFLINE.
For roughly five and a half hours on Friday, customers across western Japan couldn’t withdraw cash at affected ATMs. Counter transactions stopped at 3,430 branches.
The operator traced it to an equipment failure. Services were restored that evening.
If your cash machine and bank branch went down at the same time, how would you pay for food or fuel? A little cash and a backup way to pay can make a difference.

Around 185 Catholic graves were vandalized at a cemetery in Corbeil-Essonnes, south of Paris, on October 31, just hours before All Saints' Day, when families traditionally visit the graves of their deceased loved ones.
Crosses were ripped from graves, statues of angels were destroyed, memorial plaques were smashed, and funeral ornaments were stolen. According to initial police reports, the destruction exclusively affected Catholic graves.
A 58-year-old Indian national living in Grigny was arrested by municipal police at approximately 1:40 p.m. after returning to the cemetery following an earlier incident in which he damaged a grave.
Police found that the suspect had collected objects from the graves in two bags.
The man's behavior raised concerns about his psychiatric condition, and a doctor determined that he was unfit for police custody. He was subsequently referred for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.
