Norja ilmoitti Suomen tavoin, ettei se suostu pelaamaan Venäjää vastaan jääkiekon MM-kisoissa.
Juuri tätä olen peräänkuuluttanut CAS:n päätöksestä lähtien. Yksittäisen maan protesti on helppo sivuuttaa, mutta riittävän laaja yhteinen rintama voi tehdä Venäjän paluusta käytännössä mahdottoman.
Uskon ja toivon, että lisää maita liittyy vielä mukaan.
Suomen alun hitaan ja valitettavan haparoivan reagoinnin jälkeen olemme nyt ottaneet aktiivisen roolin ja ryhtyneet tekemään oikeita asioita. Olen tästä erittäin tyytyväinen.
Nyt on pidettävä paine yllä!

Jääkiekkoliitto ilmoitti, ettei Suomi pelaa Venäjää vastaan jääkiekon MM-kisoissa ja kertoi myös kokoavansa muita maita yhteiseen rintamaan Venäjän paluun estämiseksi.
Tämä oli ainoa oikea linjaus, kaikki muu olisi ollut yksinkertaisesti väärin.
Esitin heti CAS:n päätöksen jälkeen, että Suomen pitää ryhtyä kokoamaan muita jääkiekkomaita yhteisen boikottiuhan taakse. Jos riittävän moni suuri jääkiekkomaa kieltäytyy pelaamasta Venäjää vastaan, koko päätöksen toteuttaminen voidaan tehdä mahdottomaksi.
Nyt on tärkeää pitää linja ja saada mahdollisimman moni maa mukaan. Nyt Suomi voi näyttää esimerkkiä koko jääkiekkomaailmalle.

Lokakuun ulkoasiainneuvostossa kirjelmöin EU-kollegoille, että rajoittaisimme venäläisurheilijoiden pääsyä koko Schengen-alueelle. Komissio on työn päällä.

Putin wants to destroy us. He doesn't respect us, our sovereignty and territorial integrity. He really thinks that we are not a country, not a nation. Do you really believe that just the eastern part of our country will be enough for him? Then why did he go for Kyiv when the full-scale invasion began? Is that Donbas? No, it’s the capital. Without the capital, there is no state.
And what will happen afterwards? On what borders will he stay? If now he's testing all these drones against European, even NATO countries? They are not loud for now. They don't want to escalate because they have one Russian drone, two drones, ten. But you will be very loud when there will be ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and thousands of drones. We had one thousand drones yesterday.
But the American side said that it's difficult to speak with Zelenskyy. It's less difficult to manage with Putin. Of course.

We don’t use Starlink for our responses inside Russia. We use Starlink to intercept jet-powered “shaheds” that attack our civilians and kill families.
Starlink wasn’t turned off – its speed was reduced. And when the speed was reduced, we were unable to intercept a certain number of jet-powered “shaheds.” We couldn’t use a tool that helps protect people. That’s very painful and frustrating.
We also use Starlink for mid-range strikes against enemy military targets in our temporarily occupied territories. We couldn’t do that when the restrictions were in place. And third, what matters most is people. Our warriors, who spend weeks and months on the front line, receive food and water delivered by drones using Starlink.
Has the speed been fully restored to what it was before? No. Is it being restored now? Yes.

The President of the United States has announced, with obvious pride, that he phoned Vladimir Putin and asked him for fuel. He calls it a great success. It is the richest country on earth going cap in hand to the man who bombs Ukrainian cities every night, because diesel became expensive before an election.
For four years Europe paid more for its energy, housed millions of refugees and emptied its arsenals so that Putin would not be rewarded. Washington has now concluded that all of it matters less than a cheaper tank for a truck in Ohio, and has told Ukraine to stop hitting the refineries that pay for the war.
This used to be the country others measured themselves against. Its remaining admirers are in Moscow and Pyongyang, and it has become exactly the kind of shithole it used to sneer at.
