Ma grandma is my favorite model for my drawings. She complains a lot though, saying I should pay her 😅😁❤
My practice serves as a bridge between the preservation of Culture and a critical investigation into the mechanics of power. I explore how systemic forces, specifically the history of South African Apartheid, reshape, dilute, and dismantle cultural identity.
I am driven by the question: What remains of ‘Culture’ when it is forcibly intercepted by power? My work examines the ‘conqueror’s logic’, where greed and institutionalized selfishness don’t just spark war, but execute a slower, more insidious form of violence:
RIDERS OF THABA BOSIU
II Addition
The title references the historical stronghold of Thaba Bosiu, the heart of the BaSotho nation under Moshoeshoe I, where horses played a critical role in defense and unity. It evokes the pride and resilience of the BaSotho.
RIDERS OF THABA BOSIU
A tribute to the BaSotho’s enduring bond with the Basotho pony. Rooted in Moshoeshoe I’s legacy, this drawing celebrates resilience, heritage, and the harmony of man and land. 🐎

Awe Sabelo, I love this brother 💯.
Try drawing on Clairefontaine pastelmat sheets. Works super well with pastels and makes layering a whole lot easier compared to Fabriano, with your skill, you’ll start getting even better results, you’ll enjoy it, I promise you that.

I need to go out more and meet other artists, and share knowledge and network...
You’d think it’s just another random photograph but wait till you realise it’s actually a drawing.
