The woman who wants to run Berlin wrote in the margins of a Spiegel interview that she and her husband are afraid of Hamas sympathizers in the city, and asked her team if they could cancel the whole interview.
Her office sent the notes to Spiegel by mistake.
The man she was afraid to name is Ibrahim Ibrahim, a PFLP supporter who called Sinwar, the man who led the October 7th massacres a "martyr hero." He showed up at her party's victory celebration in Neukölln. Days later he flew to Istanbul for a conference with Hamas-linked figures.
Berlin's own intelligence service lists the group he works for as a Hamas support organization.
Elif Eralp won the election on September 20. Her party doubled its vote. She is now negotiating with the Greens and SPD to become governing mayor, which means she would be responsible for the city's police and security.
The police advised her not to name names. If the candidate for mayor is too scared to say out loud who is intimidating her, the people doing the intimidating already have more power in Berlin than the people who are supposed to govern it.

A US appeals court has temporarily blocked a ruling that required the Trump administration to resume the green card lottery for 2027.
Thousands of applicants have once again been left waiting.
The lottery has been on hold since 2025, with authorities citing national security concerns and a review of applicant screening procedures.

🇪🇸 BREAKING: MAJOR EXPLOSION AT SPANISH MUNITIONS FACTORY IN GRANADA
A powerful explosion has struck the Fábrica de Municiones de Granada in El Fargue, Spain.
Initial reports:
• At least three people injured, reportedly suffering hearing-related injuries.
• Explosion occurred around 09:00 local time.
• A large mushroom-shaped smoke cloud was visible across Granada.
• The blast was felt in surrounding communities.
• Police, firefighters and explosives specialists have responded.
The facility, owned by Czech defence group CSG, produces artillery ammunition, propellants and other military components.
According to initial reports, the explosion occurred in a restricted gunpowder-disposal area, possibly during a routine test.
The cause remains under investigation. There is currently no evidence establishing sabotage.

Saman Abbas var 18 år gammal och hade en tydlig uppfattning om hur hon ville leva sitt liv.
Hon ville inte gifta sig med en äldre man i Pakistan. Hon hade anmält sina föräldrar för misshandel. Hon ville själv välja vem hon skulle älska, hur hon skulle klä sig och hur hon skulle leva. För hennes familj var de valen en förolämpning som måste straffas.
Enligt åklagarna dödades hon natten mellan den 30 april och 1 maj 2021 i Novellara i norra Italien i ett noggrant planerat brott. Det var inte ett ögonblick av raseri; det var ett straff som förberedts i förväg.
Nu har Högsta domstolen, Italiens högsta instans, avvisat alla överklaganden och fastställt fällande domar.
Hennes far, Shabbar Abbas, och hennes mor, Nazia Shaheen, dömdes till livstids fängelse. Samma straff fick två av Samans kusiner, Ijaz Ikram och Noman Ul Haq. Hennes farbror, Danish Hasnain, dömdes till 22 års fängelse.
Allt detta för att hon sa nej till ett äktenskap hon inte valt själv.

Russian forces have begun taking civilians from occupied Oleshky to Russia, apparently disregarding previously announced agreements governing the operation.
The operations are being conducted by the Russian military, without American representatives or teams from either side’s ombudsman office present. Russia’s state news agency TASS is openly filming the operation.
There is no indication that civilians are being given a choice of where they wish to go. No buses or other vehicles designated to transport evacuees to Ukrainian-controlled territory are visible.
The operation raises serious concerns that Russia is once again exploiting a humanitarian evacuation to forcibly transfer Ukrainian civilians.
The parallels with the evacuation of Mariupol’s Azovstal steel plant are disturbing. Once again, Moscow appears to be disregarding agreed procedures while controlling the fate of Ukrainian civilians.

🇵🇱 A 55-year-old Russian citizen has been detained in Poland on suspicion of spying for foreign intelligence.
The man was caught by police while taking photos of trains and railway infrastructure, RMF24 reports.
During the check, it turned out that the 55-year-old Russian had professional photography equipment with him.
Hundreds of thousands of files with photos of transport infrastructure, not only from Poland, were found on his digital media.
