The commercial quantum leap that catapulted bringing heavy metal to the masses, especially on this side of the Atlantic. The deeper tracks still define the strength of the album!

I know in chart positions don't really matter in the grand scheme of things but seeing Tony Iommi debuting at 11 in the UK album charts with his new album does the heart good #TonyIommi #HeavyMetal

18 years ago this week, Bon Scott's statue was officially unveiled at the Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle, Western Australia. Fremantle Mayor Peter Tagliaferri did the honours on Saturday, October 25, 2008. Fremantle sculptor Greg James cast Bon in bronze, mic raised, standing on a Marshall amp. Fans got a first look at the Aussie Rock Celebration concert in Claremont on February 24 that year, before it moved to the harbour. The plaque calls him "The Greatest Rock n Roll Frontman of all Time," the title Classic Rock gave him in 2004. Born in Forfar, Scotland, in 1946 and raised in Kirriemuir, Bon came to Australia with his family in 1952 and settled in Fremantle in 1956. He joined AC/DC in 1974 and sang on every album up to Highway to Hell. He died in London on February 19, 1980, at just 33, and his ashes rest at Fremantle Cemetery. Photo by Gnangarra, taken in November 2011 (CC BY 2.5 AU). ⚡ Bon's family settled in Fremantle in 1956, and he grew up there. Have you ever visited his statue? ⚡
