@BarrenMagazine was the home of my first-ever fiction publication. Up Next: I Dye My Hair Blond was the Editor’s pick in issue 15/16. It’s a borrowed form flash about a curly-haired girl who falls prey to consumerism trying to tame her curly hair.

Today marks 30 years since the start of the Rwanda genocide. I lived in Rwanda from 1987 to 1993. I have written a few pieces recently to come to terms with what happened. Here is one that appeared last year in @BarrenMagazine barrenmagazine.com/what-the-…🕯️#Kwibuka30

Read “Museum of Natural History,” a poem I wrote imagining the life of a couple out together on an ordinary day. It's published in @BarrenMagazine's Issue 23.

ICYMI. I don't usually repost my stuff because I know that can be too much, but THE SWEAR JAR in @BarrenMagazine has a special place in my ❤️.
🔥 🔥 Issue 23 of @BarrenMagazine and my story, THE SWEAR JAR, is live. 🔥 🔥 Summer public pools and regret and how life changes in an instant. The entire crew at Barren are awesome, and there are other great stories to read. Please check out the mag.
