π΅ Daniss Jenkins, DET π΅
β
Must Add: 20+ team leagues
π Stream/Soft Add: 10-12 teamers (for today/tmrw)
π
Schedule: TUES/WED/FRI/MON
π Similar in points leagues
βοΈ Jenkins is coming off a great performance against the 76ers, playing 38 minutes and posting 18/8/6 with a block. He played 22 minutes in the game before that (15/5/5) but just 15 minutes in the opener. Jenkins' minutes and usage increase is a direct result of Ausar Thompson being sidelined, not to mention Isaiah Joe also leaving Sunday's game after four minutes. Maybe Jenkins has some extra upside due to Duren's absence, but that could be matchup-based, like if an opposing team is going small. As of right now, Thompson and Joe are questionable for tonight's game against the Knicks. Jenkins makes sense as a stream for tonight, plus the Pistons are on the front end of a back-to-back. But I don't expect him to be worth rostering past these two games outside of deep leagues and if there are more injuries.
π£ Precious Achiuwa, SAC π£
β
Must Add: 14-team (cat), 12-team (points)
π Stream/Soft Add: 10-12 team (cat), 8-10 team (points)
π
Schedule: TUE/THU/SAT/MON
π Significantly better in points leagues
βοΈ Achiuwa got the start and played 39 minutes in Keegan Murray's absence, posting 12/10/0/2/3. Murray will be re-evaluated in 10-14 days, so don't be shocked if he's out 2+ weeks. Based on what Achiuwa has done in his time in Sacramento, a 30-minute role would have him around rank 140 in category leagues and rank 100 in points leagues. In a 35-minute role, it'd be around rank 90 in cat and 50 in points leagues. I think he's still a good add in category leagues, just understand he's a strengths/weaknesses consideration.
π£ Ace Bailey, UTA π£
β
Must Add: 12 teamers
π Stream/Soft Add: 8-10 teamers
π
Schedule: WED/SAT/MON
π Similar in Points Leagues
βοΈ Jaren Jackson injured his knee and Lauri Markkanen injured his wrist yesterday and neither returned to the game. JJJ's injury seems worse but we don't have updates yet. Bailey had been playing well before, but he got extra usage yesterday and posted 17/10/3 with 3 blocks in 34 minutes. So far, it seems he's made improvements as a rebounder and passer, and his shot-blocking numbers have been great (but no steals). There's a lot that's tough to gauge about Bailey's value, but I'd say he has top-50 upside if he got 35 MPG. Maybe more like 75-100 if he's 30 MPG. Undoubtedly you should put him in a streaming spot and see what happens.

What were your biggest fantasy basketball wins and losses from tonight's 9 games?
Who's got you panicking? Who's got you hyped?
Caruso got hurt today as well. TBD on that but McCain, Stirtz, Kenrich Williams become more interesting
I still think OKC might try to (or have to) go big so consider Mara, J Will and Hartenstein a bit more
Markkanen and JJJ both injured during today's game and won't return. Worth putting Ace Bailey in a streaming spot if you can
Alex Barutha π retweeted
I'm not scared to say if you dropped Brandon Miller in fantasy you made a mistake
Both J-Dub and Cason Wallace expected out most if not all of the year
Ajay Mitchell remains the obvious add in fantasy.
Alex Caruso also a good add but only crossed 30 minutes in 5 games with OKC the past 2 seasons. He can easily be a top-100 player in 25 MPG though. If he pushed to 28 MPG could be more like top 75. Much worse in points leagues (like rank 150 in 25MPG). Just keep in mind he has a history of injury and rest himself.
Jared McCain will probably take on more minutes and usage but his game doesn't translate that well to fantasy. He might barely crack top 150 in 30 MPG and is extremely reliant on the 3-ball. Fine add in 16-teamers.
I also wonder if OKC will experiment with going big. Playing more Chet/J-Will/Hartenstein/Mara in some combination together more often. I think all 4 of those guys could see minor but notable boosts.
In very deep leagues (20+ team), I'd consider at least watchlisting Bennett Stirtz, Kenrich Williams, Jaylin Williams.
Cason Wallace needs surgery for a left labral tear, and a timeline will be established after the procedure, Thunder general manager Sam Presti said Monday.

Fantasy Basketball Week 1 Takeaways: Risers, Fallers, Adds, Drops xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1aKbdEWnbβ¦
Pretty much a best-case scenario for Suggs.
A reminder that re-evaluated in 2 weeks does not mean he'll be back in 2 weeks though, so it's probably more like 2-4 weeks.
Black and da Silva remain great adds over the next month.
Jalen Suggs (knee) has been diagnosed with a mild bone bruise and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. He avoided any other major structural damage.

π Fantasy Basketball Stock Market: Buy, Sell, Hold Drop
Report after Week 1
π Buy π
- Kris Dunn (24% rostered): won't keep shooting 61% or put up 4.6 STK. But he's playing 31 MPG and is important on both sides of the ball
- Ja'Kobe Walter (7%): Deep leagues should watchlist him. He's benefiting some from game script but is making 2.7 threes with 2.3 STL in 26 MPG.
- Kyle Kuzma (23%): Can't believe we're here but I think Kuzma is an add in a lot of spots. Playing real minutes and it seems sustainable.
- Trevon Brazile (14%): He's an add in deep leagues, 16+ probably. Worried about his role when everyone is healthy but there's long-term intrigue. I do think 14% rostered is probably too much though.
π Sell π
- Reed Sheppard (30%): VanVleet and Smart were out, so Sheppard played more minutes, got more usage and was highly efficient. It's a mirage.
- Zaccharie Risacher (27%): He will shoot better, but his stock numbers are inflated, as is his usage and minutes with Flagg and Marshall out recently.
β
Hold β
- Josh Giddey (99%): Some combination of his wrist injury, poor shooting and some blowout games has resulted in a bad start for Giddey. His ceiling isn't as high as last year but I want to give him some time.
- Donovan Clingan (97%): Game 1 blowout, Game 2 foul trouble.
- Onyeka Okongwu (95%): A slump mixed with bad game scripts has resulted in a poor start. My panic level is essentially zero.
- Zach Edey (91%): Minutes have been limited and sat a b2b for his ankle. The word is they'll be ramping his minutes up. The best is yet to come.
- Payton Pritchard (88%): Only a 2 game sample and some bad shooting. The minutes are there.
- Grayson Allen (35%): As long as Knueppel and White are out, Allen is a hold and start. Even after, he could continue playing a sizable role.
- Dennis Schroder (26%): Less long-term potential than Schroder but I want to see White come back and stay healthy before I drop or sell Schroder
- Keaton Wagler (33%): The shooting percentage is bad but the minutes and usage are good, plus the passing and rebounding is solid.
- Duncan Robinson (37%): Taking 9.3 3PA is huge, and the Pistons need it. He won't keep shooting 54% from deep but I'm fine hanging on and seeing what happens.
β Drop β
- Alex Sarr (93%): To be clear on this one, you do not HAVE to drop Sarr. But his minutes are not being prioritized, and his usage is down more than 10%. The Wizards have also been in some weird games. He's more of like a 10-team drop and 14-team hold.
- Mikal Bridges (86%): The man has 11% usage and he's just not that good in general. Easily droppable for streaming spot.
- Andrew Wiggins (79%): Wiggins is somewhere between a hold and a drop for me, but is upside is probably top 75 at best. That's borderline streamable production so it's fine to let go.
- Keegan Murray (66%): He's hurt right now but had just 15% usage in the first two games. He's ranked inside the top 100 once and needs the usage to do so. Sabonis, LaVine and Acuff are just letting it rip.
I would not be shocked if Black is better than Ajay until Paolo is back (maybe Suggs?), and even when he gets back it could be fairly close to Ajay.
But I just think the value with Ajay is safer ROS in terms of his minutes and role.
Black's upside is 4th option when Paolo/Franz/Bane are healthy
Ajay is 2nd option right now and ROS
Replying to @BaruthaAlex
So, Ajay > Black? Iβve already got Franz.
Just curious why? ROS vs when Paolo comes back?

β
Must Add: 8-10 teamers
π Soft Add/Stream: Everywhere
π
Schedule: WED/FRI/SUN
π Same in points leagues
βοΈ With Banchero out for a month and Suggs out for likely at least that long too, Black becomes an obvious add. He played 26 minutes in his return game, posting 18/3/5/2 with zero turnovers. His minutes ceiling is higher, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was over 30 MPG over the next 4+ weeks. Last season when playing 30+ minutes, he averaged 18/4/4 with 2.4 STK. Those are top-60 numbers. ALSO, don't panic if he plays below expectation over the next 3 games (Toronto twice, then Boston).
π΅ Jay Huff, IND π΅
β
Must Add: 14-16 teamers
π Soft Add/Stream: 10-12 teamers
π
Schedule: MON/WED/FRI/SUN
π Significantly worse in points leagues
βοΈ Zubac sprained his ankle and left the arena on crutches, but his x-rays came back negative and is considered "unlikely" to play today per Rick Carlisle. It seems like he avoided anything serious, but could easily be out a week-plus. Huff stepped in for more minutes (21) and posted 14/2/3 with 3 blocks and 2 threes. We saw plenty of Huff last season -- but if you remember, it was fool's gold just as much as it was real gold. As a starter, he averaged 11/5/2 with 2.5 STK and 1.7 threes in 24 MPG. That was just inside the top 100 in cat leagues and around rank 150 in points leagues. The team also now has Larry Nance and Obi Toppin for center options. I'm okay with Huff as a streamer and deep league add, but I think he's someone we all want to be better than he actually is.
π΅ Ajay Mitchell, OKC π΅
β
Must Add: 8-10 teamers
π Soft Add/Stream: Everywhere
π
Schedule: MON/WED/SAT
π Worse in points leagues
βοΈ This is the big one, folks. Tragic injury to J-Dub and a potential medium/long term shoulder injury to Cason Wallace means Mitchell is now the No. 2 option on OKC and probably needs to play around 30 minutes to boot. Based on what he did last season in extended minutes, top 70-90 production is likely, with upside for more assuming improvement. He's an add almost everywhere for the long haul.

I only just now watched the injury video and I'm a bit worried Cason Wallace dislocated his shoulder. Unfortunately speaking from experience on this one
Biggest panic for the day appears to be Collin Murray-Boyles
I think this is another small sample size thing. Two blowouts where he didnt play in the 4th quarter and then foul trouble in the other game.
What were your biggest fantasy basketball wins and losses from tonight's 7 games? (Aside from the horrible injuries)
Who's got you panicking? Who's got you hyped?
Horrible night for NBA injuries.
J-Dub and Suggs probably out for the year.
Zubac leaves on crutches.
