Tallon Griekspoor and Anastasia Potapova during her match against Marta Kostyuk in Madrid.
Tallon: “You need to believe in yourself.”
Anastasia: “I do.”
Tallon: “No, you don't.” 😅
DIANA SHNAIDER AFTER THE MATCH:
“Honestly, I feel this match deserved to be a final. Both of us played at an incredible level. There were moments when I genuinely thought I wouldn’t be able to win because she was playing unbelievable tennis.
But I kept reminding myself to stay focused and keep fighting…”
Alex Eala never forgets to acknowledge her fans and thank them for their support. That's the mark of a true champion!
Although Alex Eala lost the match to Diana Shnaider, the good thing was that Eala put up a good fight and fought for every single point.
Alex Eala had the opportunity to win the match by taking the second set. The third set is going to be difficult.

She lets her racket do the talking, that quiet confidence is what makes her celebrations so unique.

Here are my personal thoughts on why the craze around Alex Eala is massive:
1. Love for the Philippines most especially the Pinoys - She is beaming with national pride especially when she competes for the flag. This was highlighted again when she chose to play for the recently concluded Asian Games rather than the China Open. To note that she would have penalized for doing so. Her love for our kababayans is through the roof as she always thank them for the support she's been given.
2. Eloquent - Damn this girl. She can talk man. Like really. Aside from her matches, personally, I'm excited to watch her post-match interviews. The confidence she exudes when she talks, I am drawn towards her. Sometimes I just don't want it to end because there's so much substance.
3. Warrior mentality - Manifested in a lot of her matches. One example was her US Open debut in 2025 against the 14th seed Clara Tauson. She was down1-5 on the third set and she was serving for the set. But lo and behold, she won the match after a super tie break. And it is a slam!
4. Time for the fans/supporters (win or lose) - This! my tennis heart is really happy. She still finds time to sign autographs even if she lost the match.
5. Love for kids - Just recently in China, a kid named Jenifer wanted her autograph where she happily obliged. Took a picture. Looking for a full circle moment on this one.
6. Grace in defeat - She may have lost the match but she accepts it with grace. One example was when she went to the side of Iva Jovic to hug her even if she has been beaten by her bestie in their US Open match. That gesture says it all.
7. Fashionista - Of course, our girl is not just a tennis player. She is a fashionista! Making her fashion debut recently in the US and Paris.
So, yes, that's why I love her not just for her game, but for the whole her and the impact she's done and will be making in the future. Vamos! Laban! 🎾
Alex Eala has never won a Grand Slam title, yet her popularity is incredible. Her fans are so passionate that they even show up to watch her practice. But what makes Eala so special? Why is the craze around her so massive?
Why Is Alex Eala So Popular Without Winning a Grand Slam?

Why does Elena Rybakina celebrate so differently from many other tennis players?
No huge scream.
No running around the court.
No dramatic celebration.

The last time Alex Eala faced Diana Shnaider earlier this month in October, Shnaider won the match quite comfortably. What will happen this time? Can Eala turn the tables?
