This is the way I've always seen it, but I've certanly been wrong before. Seems so unlikely to be a GE though.
Absolutely no way Burnham is calling a GE. He’d be throwing away 2-3 years with a large majority for - at best - an unstable minority govt. At worst, the campaign would go badly and Tories or Reform could win, perhaps in Coalition. There will not be an election

The Times editorial today is about… me! So let’s focus on these ANONYMISED “leader” columns and who exactly writes them, because they don’t have bylines on them. Because they are COWARDS. So I’m gonna tell you the industry’s little secrets that they don’t want you to know… Here are 3 of the team that write the Times editorials (aka “leaders”)… 1. Daniel Finkelstein: a sitting Tory peer and former Conservative Party adviser. He’s also the reason Chelsea FC was run into the ground following the big Russia focus after the invasion of Ukraine. 2. Sebastian Payne: a former Spectator writer who ran the Tory-aligned Onward think-tank. Sebastian, whose skeletons I know well, has repeatedly sought Conservative parliamentary nominations. In fact, he keeps applying for a seat and I’m told today’s “leader” is his desperate last bid to get in Kemi’s good books. 3. Oliver Kamm: a former Oxford Labour Party Club chairman, an anti-Brexit Blairite, and author of a defence of neoconservative foreign policy. He was a huge proponent of the Iraq war (and still unrepentant). These are the people who set the tone for the Times’s leader column, and these are the people who hide behind the anonymity afforded to them by the paper. I say enough is enough. If you’re going to wantonly attack people in the paper of record, be brave enough to put your byline on the item. It’s time we started sending camermen to these people’s houses, doorstepping them, and making them truly have to own the things they write.

In @Apple iOS 27, on all adult phones (not just kids accounts) they have rolled out active image and video scanning. This is on by default. Accidentally show too much cleavage during a FaceTime and it blurs out the image and cuts audio, then reports it back to Apple. Those “encrypted” and personal messages, calls, photos and videos you thought were private? ALL BEING PROCESSED BY BIG BROTHER. The instigator? Well you can thank eKaren and the Labor government who met personally with Apple and in association with other globalists like the EU, felt they had a right to intercept your personal data and communications without a warrant. Ai is being used to get around human laws by nefarious governments.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
On-device ML can detect nudity in FaceTime and blur/pause with a warning. Apple doesn’t receive or access the media unless the user reports it. In Australia, adults who haven’t confirmed age 18+ have Communication Safety on by default. support.apple.com/en-us/105069 support.apple.com/en-us/126781

Incredibly, a Sudanese woman has won the right to stay in Britain thanks to her marriage to her first cousin. It is almost beyond parody. She claimed her ECHR “right to a family life” would be breached if she was forced to leave. This despite the Home Office suspecting that her “marriage” was fake, as no record of it exists in Sudan. Her “husband” was an “asylum seeker” who travelled to Britain via Libya. Sham marriages are a tool of choice for fraudsters breaking into Britain to live here at your expense. In fact a Home Office whistleblower told the Telegraph 99% of asylum applications were fraudulent. The Tories and Labour have made our immigration system a laughing stock. A Reform government will end this madness. We will ban cousin marriage, end asylum in Britain and deport all illegal migrants. We will take our country back.

I’m still angry Trump was cheated out of 2020. I’m still angry Kari Lake was cheated out of Arizona. I’m still angry Spencer Pratt was cheated out of Los Angeles. Most of all, I’m angry it keeps happening and our government won’t do anything about it.

Brazil is a 3rd world joke.
>be Lula >get convicted of corruption >get sentenced to 12 years >get released by the STF on procedural errors >never actually acquitted lmao >beat Jair Bolsonaro in 2022 >Jair gets thrown into jail over an alleged coup attempt >Congress votes to cut his sentence >Lula vetoes it >four years later, face his son >during a debate, threaten to also lock him up if he loses the election >election day >former private lawyer, now STF judge, extends voting by 2 hours nationwide >request came from Lula's own coalition >win by 4 million votes in a runoff with no paper trail >next day, Moraes orders the losing candidate to surrender his passports >victory speech: "we're going to regulate social media" >"democracy" lmao >RIP Brazil

If HMRC are allowed to take money from individuals’ bank accounts, as proposed in the budget today, then we are heading to a dark place. This tool could be used against anyone deemed to be a threat by the government of the day.
🚨 NEW: John Healey is set to announce the following in his Budget later - The gas standing charge will be scrapped to save £27 a year on a typical bill - Green levies on energy bills will be scraped "for good" - NHS prescription charges will be frozen at £9.90 for another year - Poorer households on benefits will receive extra help with energy bills before January's sharp rises - The VAT cut on electricity bills, which was due to expire in April, will be extended (though it's not clear if this will be announced in the Budget or separately) - The Government will remove the link between gas and electricity prices, which currently inflates household bills, "in the long term" - Banks will face higher taxes, with the surcharge on their profits potentially rising from 3% to 8%, making it the Budget’s biggest revenue raiser - HMRC will be given powers to seize money from the bank accounts of people who fail to pay their tax - The freeze on rail fares will reportedly not be extended beyond April - Online retailers like Amazon, eBay and Temu will be made responsible for collecting unpaid VAT from sellers to fund a cut in business rates for high street shops - The thresholds for income tax will be frozen again so another half a million people may be dragged into the higher rate - January's planned increase in fuel duty will be cancelled - Pensioners relying solely on the state pension will see their tax-free allowance rise to £13,036, in line with the pension increase, so they don't pay income tax - Billions in long-term borrowing to invest in defence firms and raise the share of GDP spent on defence (without breaking fiscal rules, as the investments are expected to generate returns) - The upcoming "Your First Home" scheme will be made more generous to provide greater support for middle-income earners - The Budget will also assume the Rosebank oil field is approved, which will generate "significant tax revenues"

If only the same establishment media took this much interest in the mass rape of young British girls, the monsters of Jimmy Saville and wholesale importation of fighting age males.
I’m literally in Boston and the British media is crying about my tweets as if Nigel has a login to my account. It’s a weird nerve I seem to have touched here, isn’t it? Almost like they are very very sensitive about protecting Kemi Scamenoch?

If @BBCBreakfast weren’t itself pushing this dishonest Brexit narrative it would call out Khan’s lies. Brexit Britain’s economic growth has outperformed both its main EU competitors. It’s not even a matter of dispute.
'Leaving the European Union was the biggest act of economic self harm any country has ever committed' Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, told #BBCBreakfast Andy Burnham 'is spot on' about having an "honest discussion" ove the prospect of returning to free movement between the UK and European Union bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8e3…

You must understand that the last Tory government did not wreck the country in a fit of forgetful negligence - they chose to govern as they did consciously and deliberately. They believed in what they said at the time, and they believe in it still. They will never change.
🚨 NEW: Tory MP calls Robert Jenrick a "Neanderthal" for backing cuts to £6 Billion spent on foreign aid. • Tory MP Andrew Mitchell has described Jenrick as a “Neanderthal” in the House of Commons over his support for reducing the UK’s foreign aid budget. • The response came following a question from Jenrick to Labour's Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband. "How would he justify to working people and pensioners spending £6 billion on foreign aid whilst freezing the tax-free person allowance and cutting the state pension?" • Miliband backed up the Tory, by replying with "I would say to him, I think the answer came from the person who used to be in his party, the party he used to be in, which is that the money we spend on foreign aid is absolutely about preventing the problems from elsewhere in the world coming here."

Africans selling other Africans into slavery for profit was a great crime against humanity. Yet they're not ashamed of themselves - on the contrary, they're demanding "reparations" from Britain for buying slaves off them. "You bought the slaves we sold, now pay us reparations!"

Europe is collapsing. This collapse is captured on social media. We see directly and in real time those engaged in it. So what do our dear leaders want to do? Deal with the reason? Admit mistakes? Reverse tends? No - they want to ban social media.
