The Government is asking people for views on each of the three different proposals put forward for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Two weeks have now passed since I wrote to the Lead Member, Mr Charles Pugsley, raising serious questions about the proposed closure of SEND Specialist nurseries.
Mr Pugsley has still not responded to or acknowledged my email.
Not good enough, in my view.

I really appreciate @PeterABedford support on the proposed closure of 4 SEND nurseries in Leicestershire.
He has written to the Education Secretary to ask for her intervention.
Keep fighting 💪
Reform-led Leicestershire County Council recently announced plans to 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲.
If implemented, local children with the most complex special educational needs and disabilities would likely go without the tailored support they desperately need.
I’ve asked the Education Secretary to work alongside the Conservative Opposition on the council to help stop these damaging plans.

I am deeply concerned about the proposals to close four specialised nurseries in Leicestershire.
I have written to the Lead Member for Children & Families, urging him to reconsider.

We should be all be very afraid of this, they are no longer hiding what this is about - in plain sight; so a lack of financial resources might be reason enough for the state to kill you or me! =Totalitarian death terror on the NHS @conservatives this bill must be resisted 💯 percent
Lord Falconer confirms it again. Under the Starmer assisted suicide bill, some people will be given lethal drugs by the state because they are poor. “Your financial position might be an element.”
Key excerpts and full video:
Lord Falconer: “Choice is the key thing. Your financial position might be an element in what makes you reach a decision.”
Lord Harper: “I am slightly incredulous at this, so I just want to make sure I understand him correctly. He’s talking about…someone’s autonomy. If you are in a financial position where you feel that you are unable to live properly because you have no money, and as a result of that you decide that you want to end your life, that isn’t a freely reached decision. That is being done because of your circumstances.
Is he really saying that he’s OK with poor people ending their lives with the assistance of others because they’re poor? Because that is what it sounds like.”
Falconer: “I am saying that what this bill does is allow you to make your own decision.”
Harper: “I think people would be horrified that he is suggesting that somebody because of their financial circumstances should be more likely to end their life than somebody who isn’t.”
Falconer: “I’m saying it’s their choice.”

I am deeply concerned about these proposals.
This is not the right choice for pre school children with SEND in my opinion.

Despite repeated promises to cut Council Tax, looks like #Leics will see a rise in the County Council Tax bill, with a 2.99% increase in their draft budget, mind you that still leaves a £23 million gap for 26/27...so could yet be increased more!!
