Millions in the U.S. may rely on groundwater that is contaminated with #PFAS for their #drinkingwater supplies. Estimates are for groundwater prior to treatment.

ALT A map of the U.S. showing estimates of the probability for PFAS in groundwater at the depth of private drinking water supply. The estimates are represented by the colors blue, green, yellow and red to indicate increasing probability. This study and map were completed by the U.S. Geological Survey.

*** NEW PAPER ALERT ***
Published in @Nature @SciReports and led by Dr. Jenny Thomas of @USGS, we show that #SeaLevelRise, #storms, and #LandSubsidence cause severe #flooding and #erosion by 2100. With 0.5 m of SLR, approximately 47% of #CapeLookout is projected to experience daily flooding. #Shoreline #retreat 178 meters & water-table rises with 1 m of SLR. Congrats Jenny!

I am hiring a 2 yr post-doc on coastal channel morphodynamics. Coastal channels can have lots of loops and islands, and we don't really know why. Come theorize and analyze field and experimental data with the team here at Arkansas.
