How beautiful that Allah has said in the Quran, “Whatever you are going through whatever difficulty you find yourself in, seek help through patience and prayer. He will always provide for you a way out from every distress when you turn to Him. Salah is a comfort for our souls.

Sunday 8/11/26, Sūrah az-Zumar (39): 6-21, tafakkur verse 39: 8
Theme: Do not be like those who serve Allah only if their prayers are answered. Be a Muslim who submits to Allah unconditionally
"And when adversity touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him [alone]; then when He bestows on him a favor from Himself, he forgets Him whom he called upon before, and he attributes to Allāh equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, Enjoy your disbelief for a little; indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire."
LESSONS:
1. Adversity has a way of exposing the limitations of human strength, wealth, influence and connections. When confronted with situations beyond our control, we often realise that our ultimate refuge is Allah. This should teach us that dependence on Allah is not an emergency response but a fundamental reality of human existence. We need Him in our moments of weakness just as much as we need Him when life is comfortable.
2. One of the greatest ironies of human existence is that people sometimes become less devoted to Allah after receiving what they desperately prayed for. They remember Allah when seeking employment but forget Him after securing a job; they pray for children but become negligent of their responsibilities to Allah after becoming parents. We must understand that receiving a blessing should deepen our gratitude and commitment to Allah, not diminish them.
3. We often measure our trials by what we lose, but rarely consider that what we gain can equally test our character and faith. Wealth tests our generosity, authority tests our integrity, knowledge tests our humility, and influence tests our sincerity. A person may survive poverty without losing faith but become spiritually compromised by prosperity. Therefore, we must prepare our hearts not only to endure difficult circumstances but also to manage success responsibly.
4. People, institutions, opportunities, professional achievements and personal connections may serve as channels through which good things reach us. However, none of these should occupy the place that belongs exclusively to Allah. We should appreciate those who assist us without forgetting that Allah is the ultimate Bestower. The danger begins when we become so attached to the means that we forget the One who makes them effective.
5. The concluding warning in the verse reminds us that worldly enjoyment is limited, whereas the consequences of our choices extend beyond this life. Wealth, status, pleasure, recognition and influence are temporary possessions. They should never become reasons to abandon our faith, compromise our principles or mislead others. A proper understanding of life requires that we pursue worldly success without sacrificing our accountability before Allah.
One of the greatest measures of faith is not how desperately we remember Allah when life becomes difficult, but how faithfully we remain devoted to Him when life becomes comfortable.
Never become so consumed by the blessings you receive that you forget the Lord from whom they come.
May Allah make us grateful in prosperity, patient in adversity, humble in success and steadfast in faith. Āmīn.
I caught myself crying again today. Maybe I’m still healing, and that’s okay. I’m not crying because I’m weak. I’m crying because I’m finally letting go of someone who was once such a big part of my life. You were part of my past, but you also helped me discover a strength in
There’s “pretty privilege,” and then there’s the barakah, mercy, and favor of Allah that no beauty in this dunya could ever compare to.
May Allah grant us sakinah, protect your children, expand your rizq, and bless us with what is best for our dunya and akhirah. Ameen.
Life has taught me to smile even when my heart is heavy, to stay strong when everything feels difficult, and to trust Allah even when I don't understand His plans. Not everyone will understand your pain, and not everyone will care about your struggles. But remember,
Today. I grieve. Alhamdulillah ala kulli haal. May Allah forgive us and grant our loved ones mercy in this world and Jannah in the next. Only Allah know the hikma of losses.
I give up trying to do this alone. It’s okay to not be okay. Someone asked me what do you do to make yourself feel better and I said “ I buy things for others, I like helping others” being a giver helps & heals me —even if I barely have anything to
Ya ‘Alim, Ya Hakim, You are the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. I know that every decree You have written for me comes from Your perfect knowledge and infinite wisdom, even when I cannot understand it.
But Ya Allah, let me be honest with You. This hurts. This decree hurts
more than this weak and helpless servant knows how to endure.
So I beg You, Ya Arhamar-Rahimin, the Most Merciful of those who show mercy, shower me with Your mercy.
Grant me a mercy so abundant, so immeasurable, far greater than any mercy You have ever bestowed upon
When you feel broken - Yā Jabbār
When you seek forgiveness - Yā Ghaffār
When you feel lonely - Yā Wadūd
When you feel lost - Yā Hādī
When you need gentleness in hardship - Yā Latīf
When you feel overwhelmed - Yā Raḥmān
When you worry about provision
You may never know, and I may never show you. There are so many things I can never put into words, so many feelings I have chosen to keep to myself. Some people may never know how much they meant to me, how often I thought about them, or how many silent duas I made for
