Without the servers you are sitting on a piece of plastic with an early build of a game that may or may not even be playable. No servers= no updates/DLC. You only own as much of the game as was completed when the disc was printed. How many games now launch with day 1 patches?

Without laws and protections for customers these companies can and will restrict what content you have access to at their whim. Buy a game digitally? Nah we take that away when the servers shut down. Buy it physically? Same issue. No access to any of that games updates/DLC

Back in the 6th generation physical ownership mattered completely because no companies could restrict your content via the internet in any way. But that has changed, and people need to understand what exactly we are facing instead of jumping on bandwagons.

Starting with the big one Owning the disc means I own the game. This is a completely false and dangerous way of thinking (kind of.) Yes. You own the disc, and you have control of all of the data on that disc. The problem is that in the modern era that games arent complete.
