Plugging @EnglishLakes into the Bitcoin Network is a huge win for guests, visitors, and the business.
We're incredibly excited to be accepting Bitcoin and adding it to the balance sheet. It's not just us, our first supplier that we can pay in BTC has been onboarded too.

Check in. Chill out. Crypto ready. ⚡
You can now use Bitcoin for your stay, dining, and experiences at Low Wood Bay and across English Lakes Hotels.

Bitcoin is the only money to facilitate genuine fair trade!
BBN member @BenBrry, MD @englishlakes, was on stage at @cpac_gb with @Jcastweet @btconlyscott and @CameronJParry.
He is using Bitcoin as money within his business. Paying his coffee supplier in El Salvador directly using Bitcoin.
No middleman. No processing fees. No bank that can block it.
This is what fair trade actually looks like. And it is not possible without Bitcoin. 🤝
Visit @englishlakes and you can even pay for your stay in Bitcoin to be part of a full circular economy. 🧵👇

Bitcoin does not belong to any political tribe.
Last week @Jcastweet took the Bitcoin Business Network to @cpac_gb and hosted a panel on the alternative money revolution in front of a completely new audience.
The message is simple. Every business and individual can benefit from a sound money alternative to government currency. It does not matter where you sit politically. Inflation does not care. Currency debasement does not care.
The Bitcoin Business Network exists to bring together the people who are ready to learn and start taking action.
Well done to @BenBrry @CameronJParry and @btconlyscott for a great panel. And thanks to @trussliz for the platform and brilliant event 🇬🇧
Dear @Gingers4Bitcoin ,
For personal reasons I'm about to turn it up a notch.

Most people don't believe some of the businesses we have in our network...
Hotels. Law firms. Schools. Farms. Charities. Hospitals. Wealth managers.
Successful businesses across every sector who can see what is happening and want to get ahead of it 💪

Just a group of enthusiastic Bitcoiners who went ‘mining’.
Being shoved in a cave staring at million year old rocks.. arguably a more stable environment than we’re in right now?!

Had an absolutely brilliant time at the Cumbria Bitcoin meetup this weekend!
Thanks to @LakeDistrictBTC for organising and to @englishlakes @BenBrry for hosting!
I think what made it even better is that it was hosted by a local Cumbrian business that’s genuinely embracing Bitcoin. I’ve been coming to Low Wood Bay for years, so when I saw they were accepting Bitcoin last year, I was ridiculously excited. Not only because it’s Bitcoin, but because it’s practically on my doorstep. For once I didn’t have to travel halfway across the country to find my people. 😂
Massive credit to the team for backing Bitcoin and helping push adoption forward. It’s so easy to follow the crowd but it’s much harder to be out in front waving the Bitcoin flag, especially up here in Cumbria where there aren’t exactly thousands of us roaming about in the wild.
Also, completely unrelated to Bitcoin, but the spa is top tier 🫧 . If you’re going to orange pill yourself, you may as well do it with a thermal infinity pool and a nice view. ⛰️
If you’re a Bitcoiner and love the Lake District, definitely check it out. It’s great to see a local business leading the way!!
Already looking forward to the next meetup. Although I suspect my partner is delighted I’ve finally found some people willing to listen to me talk about Bitcoin for three hours straight! On repeat! – at Ambleside, England

DROPPING LATER TODAY
Nicholas Dickinson has owned 13 hotels over 40 years. Nine months ago, he barely knew what Bitcoin was.
This is the rabbit hole from a business owner's perspective, and it's one of my favourite conversations on the podcast so far.

This is the state of internet 'regulation' in the UK.
Where the incoming head of censorship quango Ofcom has ' “quite deliberately” not met any mainstream tech companies', clearly does not understand how the internet works, and sees VPNs as a 'technical problem' not as an essential tool in the privacy toolkit of every company and individual.
We really are cooked, and not just by the weather.

Generations of world class hospitality. @englishlakes is not about to stop now.
Through the business, Ben Berry (@BenBrry) is building a Bitcoin circular economy by finding suppliers who accept Bitcoin, driving real change that goes beyond the success of their own business.
That's exactly why they are a founding member of the Bitcoin Business Network, helping build the Bitcoin economy across the UK.
Proud to have English Lakes Hotels as founding members of the Bitcoin Business Network 🤝🇬🇧

A resort on Lake Windermere with 131 rooms is using Bitcoin⚡️
So is the wider group behind it:
- Low Wood Bay: 131 bedrooms
- Lancaster House: 79 bedrooms + 4 apartments
- Wild Boar Estate: 32 rooms set in 72 acres of woodland
That’s why this conversation with @BenBrry, who is 5 generation and MD of @englishlakes, was so interesting.
It’s not just tech companies adopting Bitcoin. It’s everyday businesses protecting what they’ve built.
We also got into how AI is actually being used inside the business, even though hospitality is, at its core, a people business.
